Mounting a side light bar under a Prinsu CabRack

Hey all, I am looking at either getting a Prinsu CabRack, or cutting my own side plates, and was curious if anyone has mounted a single row light bar underneath the bars (pointing out to the side of the truck above the doors) that would shine through the gab between the bottom of the side plate and the roof. Obviously the center foot would block some of the light, and I imagine I would need to notch the bottom of the side plate 1/4 - 1/2 inch to allow more light to shine through, but the big question is would it fit? I have seen some mounted on the outside of the plate, but I am trying to keep it as sleek as possible. My buddy's business got their new years inventory of light bars so I ended up with five single row light bars and a couple dual row light bars for free and am trying to find creative places to use them.

I have been scouring TW and google images to see if I could find an image or thread on someone that has done this and cant seem to find one. I have not read every page on the Prinsu BS thread, but a lot of it, and still couldn't find what I was looking for, so feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread if this already exists.

These bolt directly to the Prinsu and looks great. Several members here run them. Looks cleaner than a lightbar.

I have both the Rigid and the Kaper variation. Personally the Kapers throw a more of a bluish light than the Rigid which is a pure white color. Both are super bright, the Rigid seems a bit more diffused for overall coverage but not worth the price difference in my opinion. I have had mine on for about 7 months now and no issues. Bolting both up are the same, I hacked off the connectors on both and made my own harness for it all.

As for the Prinsu roof rack with the LED bar mounted under it - yea totally possible depending on the height of the roof rack and the light bar. I have the prinsu mounted on my caprack not the cabrack though. I have the frontrunner up front on the cab. It's all about making a bracket that can hold the light bar, simple and probably easy to do with some steel from home depot. Take a strip of cardboard cut to the same length/width of the steel and mock up a bent cardboard variation of what you want for the bracket and then copy it in the steel. Drill the holes and you're all set.

Also if you plan on trying to open them up to paint them red for better lighting for night vision.. they're potted so no dice there. haha

 

@outxider Thanks for the suggestion! I have seen these as well as the small rigid A-Series, but would prefer to not have anything stick out from the side plate.

@Bruce988jl Thanks for the info on the two light patterns if I do end up needing to go that route. I like the idea of using cardboard for a template as that was what I was planning to use for a template if I do decide to make my own side plates.

Does anyone have a measurement from the roof line to the bottom of the extrusion bar at the center mounting point? That seems to be the tightest spot I would be up against so if I can get that measurement I can measure the height of my lightbar and see if it will squeeze in there.
