Your monthly payment means nothing, you could be on an 84mo Loan, or put 10k down, it’s a numbers game and being close to someone else’s payment means nothing unless your terms are identical.

Valid point. I probably shouldn't have responded to whoever made the post about payments and should have directed it more towards the fact that we paid very similar amounts for our trucks. That's really the point I was trying to get across, but I just made a quick response.

I've had three cars with sunroof and one with a moonroof. Never had a leak but I did have rattles, switches failing, and one of them broke some part of the assembly (forget now which part) taking some major work to replace. Some worked flawlessly as long as I had them; some were problematic. The sum total of my experiences has turned me off from them.

Funny all the Trd Pro guys priding over the OR guys like their doing The Lord's divine will
And failing to realize the marketing fluff
Trd "PRO" lol.. guys c'mon really... Toyota outdone it now :rofl:

Comes down to is who's the bigger dumbo to go into the most debt

Can always count on a good laugh in the 3rd gen threads

OP - if you reading these the naturally aspirated 4.0L prerunner is bullet proof and will last you a very long time.
Grab a 2nd gen 4runner or 1st gen Tacoma for off-roading. They don't make 'em like they used to!

Definitely not happening on West Coast. For $41,500 I'd be driving one right now. The cheapest I was able to find was one on East Coast for $42600 but then I'd have to pay $1500 to get it to Cali. They wouldn't finance it either so it had to be a cash deal, which I could do, but I hate sinking money in to a depreciating asset.

I don't think the "PRO Guys" are priding on this thread, they are just saying get it if you can: priding is usually what people do that don't have anything except false pride. So they brag. I for one, updated my opinion and said get the OR without sunroof. It is a truck not a luxury car. To me, IMHO, does not belong on a truck, but that's just me.

Pro is not worth the mark up. I stopped in and looked at one at a San Jose California stealership. 19 White with snorkel. Suggested retail was listed at 48k marked up to 64k because each dealership gets one a year salesman said. You could build a real nice OR long bed with that kind of cash

Everyone talks about market adjustments. I agree that they suck. That's why I got on a plane and flew a couple hundred miles to purchase at a small town dealership. They treated me great and I was in and out in about an hour. Sure, I paid MSRP, but they gave me a great deal on the service contract and handled all the intra-state title stuff at no charge.

I don't understand why anyone would pay it. The dealers know people that do are suckers for sure. I was at my local dealer with the SO on Saturday getting her into a 2018 4Runner LTD and they asked if I bought my Pro from them. I laughed at the guy and said hell no. Then the SO started in on the price. The look on his face was priceless. She's in outside sales and knew exactly what to do.

Edit - As for what to do, that's up to you to decide. I wanted something capable that would be under Toyota's warranty (for the most part, they aren't going to cover the front air locker :)). And I didn't want to chew up a bunch of my time since I'd want to install it myself.

This. All the local dealers wanted 5k+ market adjustment. No thanks. Drove about 2.5 hours out to a smaller dealer and was happy to pay MSRP for it. My guess is with a little more time and research, I could have gotten it below MSRP, but I needed that instant gratification and all.

I paid a couple of grand over MSRP, but there were no more and the others were adding even more. I had totaled my truck and had to get something fast. I did not have the time to "dicker". They only had one OR and it was very close to the PRO in price and because it was modded by CTU, (very good place BTW).

Still looking but I am being patient and waiting to get exactly what I want.
Year, Model, Color, Trans and Accessories.

I am already seeing used 2019 TRD Pros on the market, I saw a 2019 "used" Voodoo Blue MT no DAI (I think in SC) with 669 miles on it. For sale at a ford dealership... $43,500 +/- (called but, sale Pending) also saw another with 2700 +/- miles but they wanted $3k over NEW MSRP so I didn't call.
