    That's what I did, the back of the scoop on my truck is open not closed off, figured more air moving thru is better then nothing. so it technically functional lol.

    I can ls swap my truck for the same cost of getting a s/c installed on my truck so I find the s/c pointless imo

    But it would be an ls1. And it would be taking Toyota reliability out and dropping gm reliability in. LS motors are damn reliable though.

    05 was the guinea pig year anyways I don't trust this motor at all

    '05 TRD Sport, 4x4 Manual 6 spd trans, Black.
    Replaced engine with an '07 FJ Cruiser motor. Clutch accumulator deleted. WIP. plan to add new exhaust, cold air intake, URD short throw shifter,
    yeah that thought had crossed my mind.. not good!
    ive gone from a rod knock theory to now possible timing chain / water pump issue. tearing off the head covers tonight! hopefully i can get this motor running.
    if not i got a line on a 2010 engine w/ 90k mi for sale nearby. off all next week and can do the swap :transformer:

    I already have an ls1 I took out of my 56 apache, been sitting in my dads garage since the summer rotting away.
