Talk to a GT350R owner and see what they paid. 97% of all GT350R owners paid $10K to $30K over MSRP.

Easy, it depends on what you (and only YOU) want...

Guy 1 wants a Taco, wants top grade suspension, but plans on adding a 3" lift and 35s, doesn't care about Pro headlights or tail lights, Pro TRD leather (Katskinz are fine) doesn't want the TRD Exhaust.
Answer: Buy either, but IMHO Guy 1 would be better served with an OR simply based on financial aspect...

Guy 2 wants a Taco, wants top grade OEM suspension, plans on leaving the suspension stock, Likes the pro add on's for looks like the headlights, tail lights, grill and badged leather seats. Has NO desire what so ever to mod the suspension. Doesn't want the down time, the install hassle or the troubleshooting little quirky things that go along suspension swaps.
Answer: IMHO Guy 2 would probably be better served with a PRO based on his wants...

100 people could ask the same question and a good percentage of them should buy the Pro, and a good percentage should buy the OR it is subjective and purely based on THEIR wants, needs and desires. There is NO single correct answer.

TRD pro fox shocks are not "top grade suspension"

I get your point but the GT350R and a TRD pro are apples to oranges comparisons. People pay over MSRP for exotic cars all the time but these aint exotic cars ;)

:facepalm:Relatively speaking... They are top of the line STOCK Tacoma suspension.

See this just proves my point... Everyone thinks in such different directions on this, there is no one answer... For many of us the FOX suspension is the most we would ever even care about for "top grade"... for others they are thinking in terms of ADS or Kings, if that is you, buy an Off Road. (or buy a Pro and upgrade that if you don't care about the extra money.)

I think the Pro Fox shocks are built by Toyota, and slapped on with a Fox decal. Those are way too overpriced.

Opposite, built by fox and a Toyota label slapped on them.

Are they a step up from the OR 4600?

Yes a pretty good step up from them. But overpriced as it’s an OEM product.

Like others have mentioned I personally would never pay more than MSRP. But I would get a Pro even if I decided to change out the lift.

I looked at the situation from a different point.

I always lift my trucks and when I sell them I always loose a bit of money. Either trading it in or selling it out right. The money that I used to build it up never comes back to my pocket. Maybe my salesman skills suck.

Just for fun I took my truck to a Carmax the other week to see what it was worth. 2018 Pro with manual and it has 10,000 miles on it. I purchased it for $44,000 brand new back in February and trade in is now $41,000. I think that is pretty good for being a used truck with that many miles on it.

With that being said I know the amount of money spent would still favor the Off Road edition.

I still say if you can afford the Pro get it(without paying the mark up). If you lift the Off Road and then get into a wreck the insurances company will not give you extra money for your Icon lift. With the Pro they have to give you money for the Fox parts.

    Just saying...

Don't like how to Pro is "top of the line", and comes stock with the little tires. They should come stock with atleast KO2's like the TSS Tundra.

And I am sure you had your own reasons for buying an Off Road instead of a Pro (or a Sport or an SR or SR5) We all have our own justification for buying what ever it is WE want. Which is my point, it is subjective. There is NO right answer except the answer that is right for YOU.

IMO, I wouldn't pay more than $750 for all 4.

Exactly what happened with me... I wanted a pro, but the "regional" markup or "market adjustment" or whatever other BS thing they want to call it was $5-10k over MSRP, depending on the dealer. I paid well under MSRP for the OR, so the real price difference was $8-10k. For me, that just wasn't worth it.

Exotic or not, it is rarity and availability and demand. That is what drives it.
