shame toyota even offers these in a 2wd but i guess there are those out there that don't need 4wd.

only knowing what you've posted, you don't have much of an option not to take a raping on trade or sale. don't mod it and just drive it for 2 years then trade it. atleast you won't take a big loss at that point and will have gotten some use out of it.

Nope, I go up there often in the snow and if you have 4x4 they let you through. Occasionally they will ask if you have chains with you and you just have to show them the bag, I've never been told to put them on nor have I needed to with 4wd.

Local AZ folk that grew up here should be required to take public transport when it rains, most haven't bought new tires since the Clinton administration.

Duuuuuuude. What the hell were you thinking?

Trade it. Don't wait. Downgrade the tech package or go to an sr5 if you really can't take the loss.

What location and dealer was this?

Research isn’t even necessary here. Guy obviously had intentions to use it as a recreational vehicle yet still had the balls to buy 2wd.

Hi OP and welcome to TW! Please excuse some of the less than helpful, typical 3rd gen section shenanigans.

I truly feel for you and it sucks. My advice is to give your truck a bit more of a chance. I think if you set it up correctly, better tires, utilize the locker, plan your approaches, you might be pleasantly surprised how capable even a 2WD truck can be. I personally, would hold on to the truck until I'm not backwards in the loan (double up on payments), save up some extra dollars and eventually sell the truck private party or trade it in, towards what you really want.

Ultimately, this is just another life lesson, that we all suffer through eventually. Sometimes that lesson is a bigger kick in the crotch than others.

Good luck and at least you're admitting your fault and learning from it.

Ok so now what you do is go full total chaos suspension and make it a jump truck. Then launch it off a 60ft tall ramp back into the dealership. That'll teach em.

Seriously though. I would sell to private party, then guy buy a slightly used 2015 TRD-OR 4x4... $40k seems steep for a 2wd truck. I want to say Average 4x4 upgrade is like $5-8,000. What kind of Off-roading were you wanting to do with 2wd?
