TSS is not a Toyota product, it is a Gulf States Toyota Distributor product. Or where ever the distributor is for your area. They do the addons and such. Just like the west coast distributor had a Baja Tacoma that could only be purchased from the western states.

Really?!?! The TSS Tundras and Tacomas are all over the place. For the Tacoma, it's a regular SR5 with black wheels, and BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain tires. IDK how to distinguish the Tundra, but they come with KO2's. They look nice.20181218_145346.jpg

Really. They are all modified by Gulf State Toyota Distributor right "down the road" from SA.

Gulf State Toyota SUCKS by the way, I would gladly buy a Toyota from a dealer outside of the GST zone and have it shipped here just so I don't have to deal with GST.

    all of them

Similar thought process. My 2015 was an SR5, but with a ton of upgrades. You never recoup that money without parting out those mods and putting back to stock, and even then it's pennies on the dollar. Even though my pro is modded, it will be less of a hit when it comes time to sell simply for the trim it is.

Also most of the take off parts from my SR5 I got no money for, and half of them ended up in the trash (probably should have shelved them somewhere). On the pro, selling the stock parts at least pays for a good portion of whatever replaced it.

    P.S.

A TSS model is nothing but an SR5 loaded up with a bunch of options that are not worth much over stock and they up the price $6k to $8k. So whoever buys one seems to be nothing but the same kind of person who is slamming PRO owners saying they spent too much and have a high payment.

I have said it before, get what you want. Everyone including myself justified what they bought. I wanted a Pro, but no long bed and no Silver Sky. Well I didn't need everyone to make my choice for me or help me decide. I lurked around her for 3 years before joining and buying a 18 sport and doing my own upgrades to suit my style. I'm going to post another pic because I'm proud of what it is.IMG_20181216_145744099.jpg

Seems pretty clear from everyone’s comments, but o went with the OR over the Pro to avoid the market adjustment, be able to customize as wanted, and get a manual.

    Buy what makes you happy!

That said, I think there might be a lack of information regarding the Fox shocks on the Pro.

    1. They're built by Fox.
    2. They're rebuildable (the OEM Bilstein options are not).
    3. The rears have remote reservoirs (the fronts do not, this helps with shock fade when driving fast over bumps for prolonged periods).
    4. They're significantly larger (body diameter, shaft diameter) than the Bilsteins (larger body = more oil = less fade, larger shaft = stronger though I doubt many people are breaking shocks on here)
    5. They have the full factory warranty that came on your truck (I doubt many aftermarket shocks would have much more than 90 days)
    6. And most importantly... They're internal bypass shocks!

"TRD Pro Tacoma Front shocks have 8 bypass zones (5 compression, 3 rebound) and are paired with TRD-tuned springs that provide an additional 1 inch of front lift; rear shocks have 11 bypass zones (7 compression, 4 rebound) and are paired with 2-inch piggyback reservoirs." - quoting Toyota, I know some refute the 1" lift

Internal bypass shocks have position sensitive damping. Simply put, the shocks get firmer as you reach the limits of compression or extension. If you want to go fast, this is good. If you don't, you probably won't notice (aside from less brake dive than the OR Bilsteins).

This is not the same as reservoir adjustors found on some aftermarket shocks (that usually only adjust compression damping something less than 10% relative). You probably won't see adjustable reservoirs on a race truck. You will see bypass shocks (and no, I'm not suggesting these are comparable to a 4" external bypass blah blah blah from King).

The nature of position sensitive damping is such that you don't want to change the ride height position (much). This is not worse than a shock with an adjustable spring perch. It's different. Better if you want to go fast. Worse if you want your truck taller.

I am aware of two aftermarket bolt-on solutions for position sensitive damping (OME BP-51 and Bilstein 8100s). Both are $3k+. Both do offer some ride height adjustability (at the cost of fewer bypass zones). They probably haven't undergone as much testing to dial them in specifically for a Tacoma as Toyota did for the Pros, but I'd guess they're close enough that most wouldn't notice the difference.

TLDR: The Pro foxes are great for rough roads/trails at speed. In that scenario, I'd put them up against almost any aftermarket solution that doesn't involve longer control arms. If you don't want to go fast, you probably won't see the value in them (or fancy aftermarket shocks for that matter).

Good to know on the warranty! My comment was that the OEM Bilsteins are not rebuildable. I should have clarified that the 8100s I mentioned later are, as well as other higher end (7000 series and above I think?) Bilsteins.

    So
Come on, clearly a shell covered fully carpeted long bed is the most efficient use pf a pickup bed...

Someone with this kind of truck bed has no room to talk about how useless a 5' pickup bed is LMAO what a freakin tool... So Glad I ignored this fool... I wish I could IGNORE quoted messages from morons like this too.

Most aftermarket coilovers have a 1 year warranty. The OEM foxes will be covered from defects for the 3yr 36k warranty, so they have a longer warranty but only against defects so it basically doesn’t matter. Any issues will show up quickly or not at all, anything past that year is gonna be from use and need to be rebuilt.
