    That looks like bearing failure. You can see where the bearings were spinning on the sleeve. It got so hot it melted the aluminum but the bolt was still in place because you can see the threads in the melted metal.

    Hmm. So my supercharger started making a pretty ugly noise, basically a high pitched grinding and squealing. I can't say yet that it's catastrophic or not, but it very well could be... When I opened the hood, I noticed that the lower wrap idler was actually rubbing on the supercharger pulley (there were metal filings on the intake tube just above the pulley and I saw a spark o_O). I guess I went too hard trying to reduce belt slip last time and adjusted that idler too much. Having re-adjusted that lower idler, it still makes the same noise.

    So basically I'm worried I've done something to the bearings in the drive section. Sigh. Well I guess I was technically overdue for a rebuild anyway.

    dammit, this is not good news.. Its a shame it just started up since you had the blower off so recently. When you going to tackle the rebuild?

    Sorry to hear that. Hopefully its just a bearing and nothing major beyond the rebuild.

    What tensioner are you running? You're also running a custom pulley wrap mod?

    Going to rule out the wrap idlers themselves first - it occurs to me I should specifically check those, it kind of makes sense to me that the idler bearing would fail sooner than the supercharger drive bearings. I didn't have a lot of time to do diagnostics this morning because I was on my way to work. If it is the supercharger then I'll send it away for rebuild pretty soon, I'll just put the NA manifold on so at least its driveable in the meantime.

    I am still on the stock tensioner right now. I got my Roush in the mail yesterday. Originally I had ordered a Steeda, however mustangsunlimited decided they didn't want to send it and it was on backorder indefinitely.

    I have two idlers to help with wrap...
