Actually, foamy water in a spa is pretty normal. The white is too much calcium, not being removed. Replace the paper filament elements (sand is better, last longer, diatomaceous earth is best, but sand last longer). Get some muriatic acid, because it is cheap. Get a test kit, and have it analyzed. I use an algicide ONCE a year now that acts like the softener I showed you.

Make it soft, and then chemicals will start to work. We fill a 27K gallon pool with hardwater, it just gets a couple shocks, and the algicide - and I will post that in a minute, because it will last him a long time, and the water truly feels silky. Other than that, it's just filtered and chlorinated pool water, with good Ph balance.

    I understand. Different complaints.
I’m a plumber. I hate soft water at home. I have one now to extend life of appliances but about to just hook it up to water heater like commercial setting.

I think you mean you HAVE soft water at home, I just hate putting the salt in (getting old!). But I hate plumbing, and that's my pool job! She does water, I do mechanical. We never put soft water in, but it does get soft with rain, and time. But I know this algicide I got softens the water too, not to mention the algae that is no longer a bother. So, if they get their spa water down to treatable hardness it will come around. I should have said foamy bubbles are pretty normal - because the spa will areate it!
Quit draining the water, get it soft, life will get better. Every year we talk about a spa.....maybe now that the solar is done, and the corner where it was going is now all electrical!

I hear ya but no, I dislike soft water at home. I dislike the slimy sodium feeling of not rinsing off. We don’t have it at old place about to list, but had to have it here cuz it’s not mine yet. Wife and I both prefer straight well water. As a plumber cleaning ice machines they would fair better on a softener. All I can do is filter it.

    So....
    How’s everyone’s Taco Tuesday?!

I got to have two breakfast tacos after a bloodwork visit I didn't make (they were full, and wife needed car). But the ones I brought home for the son, had cheese (he doesn't like mixed in, and I know this) :anonymous:

Ah - well water vs. City water. That does make a huge difference. Well water is naturally filtered. I forgot to fill salt in November, and then the kid got home, and I showered and WTF? No suds? Oh.....

All I want to end up with in barndominium is a whole house charcoal filter that flushes like a softener.
Don’t get me started on RO water:annoyed:
