My passenger seat rattles as well.
The dealer/Toyota complaint hotline said they couldn’t fix it because it’s not a factory defect it’s an engineering issue. Warranty only covers factory defects. What?? They go on to say that when a fix comes out I will be at the top of the list to get it fixed. What?? My response was simple. The Japanese maybe short but they are smart people you can’t tell me they don’t have a fix for it. They may not like how much it’s going to cost them but they do have a fix. So they have 3 options 1. Fix the seat. 2. Ask Nissan how to fix the seat. 3. Take the truck back with a full refund including taxes. When I purchased the truck, I promise you, the salesman did not say when he handed me the keys” for you being such a good customer we are giving you a life time rattle for free.

PS Dealer came back with if you slide the seat forward it will rattle less. Lol not a fix!

As far as I can tell, the seat is vibrating against the center console. I added some heavy Velcro to silence it. I’ll add layers if this isn’t enough of a wedge. The one thing my crappy BMW taught me was how to reduce rattles. It’s not pretty and will trap dog hair but it’s cheap so I’m happy with it. Once you move the seat into place, it’s hidden. The videos are much appreciated since this let me rule out a rail related rattle. Thanks all.

I though I was the insane one having this problem. Whenever I brake or accelerate hard I can feel a clunk on my back from the seat. It’s annoying AF. At first I thought something was loose in the back seat banging up against the drivers seat.. nope. Then I tried the headrest, shaking it back and forth to try and create this annoying thump I keep feeling. I have no clue what it is, and now I’m driving around with my hand on the back of the seat, headrest, etc to try and figure out where it’s coming from. I’m at the point to rip the seat out and put something else in it’s bothering me that much.

We had the door lock indicator rattle on my last car. Wrapped it in a layer of electrical tape to silence it. Might help if it’s the head rest.

I did something very similar, but used felt pads designed to go on furtinure. They adhere to the console and the felt is nice and quiet on the leather.

Nice! When I got back from the hardware store I actually found a box of those. Thought I might return the Velcro but I want the roll of heavy grade stuff handy.

I started having this exact problem! It has become very noticeable over the last couple of weeks. I do not have noise problems in my Tacoma. But a noticeable feel and movement in the seat In the lower back area. When coming to a stop.

Dude it’s still bugging me. I re-adjusted the recline angle to 1 click forward and it’s not as bad(maybe the bushings have worn since I keep the seat at the same position?)
I am at the point where I’ve been researching other seats Lexus, rav, etc because I’m fed up.

It feels like its something inside the seat itself. Like somethings compressed but pops when coming to a stop..

    EXACTLY.
My next (free)step is to rip the back seat cover off and examine it. It feels like a thud/pop when coming to a stop.

Like a water bottle that's been squeezed but pops back into shape.

If you grab the seat back and shake can you feel it?

The seat back is really easy to see inside btw. There are two zippers on the bottom of the seat back cover. Unzip them and you can see everything.

I’ve tried shaking, removing headrest, etc. nothing. It really feel like something on the inside. I’m going to dig into it deeper this weekend

It is likely the pre-tensioner on the headrests. We have active headrests that move to minimize whiplash in the case of an accident.

I remove the headrests and drove around.. same thing.
I can feel the clunk from the LoweR section of the seat, not sure where the tensioners are located but I’d assume higher up

Nope it's in the bottom of the seatback. It's a weird rod thing in the middle of the seat.

It's item 20 in this diagram.
