Short bed just looks so goofy. When you look inside a 5 foot bed in person it really makes you realize it's not a bed at all, it's just an open cargo space. It's basically a trunk at 5 feet.

Short bed for me. If I ever need an extra foot I would just add the extender. So far haven't had the need for one. Buy what you want. A Tacoma long bed is still a small bed.

Do you think you could fit 35's without rubbing? (with your 4 inch lift)?

Long bed looks like a weiner dog to me. Truck isn't wide enough. I have a utility trailer than is 100x better for hauling heavy/dirty shit than a pickup bed. It's low, tilt bed, drop gate, can scratch the shit out of it, etc. Long bed wouldn't fit in my garage. Short bed is easy to park and maybe better offroad. I haul dirt bikes easy in the shorty. The only issue I have is, I can't put an ARE walk-in shell on and sleep in it. That's a nice setup. I'll have to stick with the ground tent or go with a wedge camper, which is actually cool because you can keep the bed clear for gear or roll out drawers. If I really needed a long bed, I'd get a tundra or domestic full size.

For me it isn't the width it's that the cab is so short. If it were taller it would look great. I miss sleeping in the back of my long bed but I don't miss driving it.

You CAN have fun with a long bed. Makes tight trails more challenging!

I needed a light duty truck with 4x4 for work. Im a construction superintendent. Also I needed to be able to take my family camping on the weekends so I needed the DC. The long bed taco fits my needs perfectly.

You guys made me laugh as I am deciding what to get. I had a 2012 shortbed. Found it to be useless at times. Then had a 2007 single bed with a 2.7 engine-meh.

Had 2 DCSB's for 13 years, wheeling and motorcycling in the Sierras. Had full OME suspension and hybrid rock rails. Awesome truck for my needs at the time but often felt the need for the long bed. Just got my '19 DCLB a week and a half ago and could not be more pleased. My needs have changed as has my location. I say get whatever you want for whatever you do. I loved my old truck and I love my new one.

Long bed for me and when it’s not enough I use my actual long bed truck.

I bought this '19 TRD Sport AC because I don't haul passengers and I absolutely have to have a 6' bed for the work I do. I test drove a DCLB model, same truck and it was great. I almost bought it. I just don't need or like the extra 14" of overall length. When my kids were at home and we were going on surf trips constantly, four doors were a must.

I think when they are lifted with proper wheels and tires, ALL of the Tacomas look great. You lift a DCLB, it takes the cigar/Dachshund look out of the equation. My truck will be going in for the Bilstein 8110 treatment soon with different wheels. The thing I dislike most about my truck is the lame wheels that came on it. I already bought TRD wheels and can't wait for these stupid holidays to end so I can spend more money my new baby.
