    Anyone running 305/70/17's or 295's ?? If so what shocks and amount of lift are you using, any cutting etc...

    I have 295/70/17s. I wanted 305/70/17, but the tires I wanted (STT Pros) didn’t come in that size. Even thought about 285/75/17, but you can’t get them in that size either.

    Truck is lifted ~2”.
    CMC, beat pinch weld, trimmed the lower part of the fender and fender flare.
    I heated up the fender lines, but they eventually went back almost to their original shape and it was rubbing when I was off road. I ended up slicing out the part that was rubbing with a razor.

    Nice looking truck, especially the pelfrey - do you notice any difference in front end handling from bumper weight

    When I installed the bumper, I had stock springs and 5100s. You could tell there was some added weight, but it wasn’t that drastic.
    Not even a week after I put the bumper on, I changed to OME 886 springs and Nitrochargers. That stiffened it up a bit. To me, it handles just fine, and I’m not running a sway bar.

    The same requirements as always, CMC, pinch weld fender molding, decent offset wheels, new UCA for alignments and a partridge and a pear tree.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t a negative offset make it harder to fit a larger tire?? I’m trying to piece it together myself right now.. 285/75/17 with a -38 offset would be harder than a -11 or 0 offset??

    You are correct. -38mm pushes the tire outward, thus causing more rubbing and possibly restricting your turning radius.

    Ok so i might be better off with an offset closer to 0? And a positive offset keeps it under the fender more? (and closer to control arm)

    It depends on different factors, but generally yes, 0 offset will clear better than negative offset. Here are a couple comparison pics. Don’t mind the different angles but see the general difference.

    Yea the SCS look sexy!! What size tire is that??

    I was looking at the 17x9 F5s with the -38 and running a 285/75/17 Nitto RG (cmc for sure).. but who knows maybe too much offset for a 34” tire

    It’s 315/75/16. I downgraded my wheels from the 17x9 -38mm to 16x8 -25mm to reduce the rubbing.

    Ahh hah.. is that a long travel?? 35s!! With 3” up front i assume?? so perhaps the -10 17x8.5 is the smarter way to go.. not like any of this is ‘smart’ by any means but you know what i mean..

    No LT. It’s just Kings Extended with a little more than stock preload and +4 degrees caster

    By the looks of it.. not many run this size.. they just jump to 35s or 315/70/17. I know it’s an older thread. But i woulda expected a few more posts.. here :spy:
