I've had mine for 4 days or so. As every day passes, I love it more.

I traded in my '17 civic hatchback (w/ turbo) and havent looked back. No, the engine isnt as zippy or responsive. But I can haul anything I need. Were starting to see snow where I live. Being a commuter I would be crapping my pants with my civic, trying to find someone to swap out my tires for winters. With this truck, it doesnt even matter.

Gas mileage sucks though, comparatively. But it's a trade off I'm ok with.

Put on the winter tires! Having 4x4 alone is inadequate... Never undersertood why someone would go through the expense of getting a 4x4 and then put on inferior tires in the winter. It's like buying a tuxedo and then picking out a pair of sandals to wear with it.

FOX really does feel like magic. I just upgraded my SR5 to front coilovers and resi shocks in the rear and I love it.

Lucky for us, there are few All Terrain tires with the 3 peak snow design on them. :spending:

Hi, sorry to bother you all again, but do any of you know how much of a difference the extra inch you get with the pro is? Haven't seen one on a lot, so I was just curious.
    is it even noticeable?

Its not so much the extra inch as it is the reservoir fox shocks. Much better than the bils or the SR5 Hitachis.

For the 9K delta between the Pro and the Off-Road you could buy some really nice suspension and dial in the exact ride height you want. I don't own them but a lot of guys on the forums recommend Kings. I've watched some youtube comparison videos and holy moley. Those shocks are a completely different animal when you see the internals. With the left over you could also buy whatever wheels and tires you want. Or just find you're happy with what the off-road has and have money in your pocket.

I have the off-road and don't feel any pressing need to swap suspension, although those kings have me drooling a bit. Probably go for it when my stock stuffs wears out. The Pro Fox stuff excited me even less. I might buy some take-offs if they're a decent price.

@dynamicweight you are right, I might have been swayed by voodoo blue and looking to justify the extra cost (off road I think is really the one)

For one thing, your looking at getting into a Tacoma and so your already ahead of the ballgame...there are quite a few trims to choose from. Really ask yourself what can you live with and what can’t you live without? I lived the “fast” car thing for a while and eventually came back to a truck. Had a nice blacked out 335i msport that I loved...but to be honest i got tired of searching for parklot only fishing spots, and hauling lumber in my wife’s SUV, etc etc...I made the leap back into a Tacoma. You will miss the power BELIEVE me...but, that started to wane after a few months....it’s nice to drive around and not feel like you have to race every dick head around..people tend to leave you alone in the Taco. Kinda nice actually . One of the above comments mentioned adding small modifications to keep things “fun”...couldn’t agree more...seems to be an endless amount of mods for these trucks, maybe add something here and there over time to keep the love affair fresh :D. Any trim in a 4x4 will get you pretty much where you wanna go, these trucks are very capable. Enjoy whatever you get!

Show her these pictures. My wife wasn’t a “truck person”, until a semi creamed us last Christmas Eve. Now, she won’t go on the highway in anything else.

@Deathray That's awful. We had a similar even in 2016, she is convinced the jeep we were in saved our lives, (probably right).

There's two threads / posts on FB that pop up all the time from two kinds of people.. Those who regret getting a 2WD and those who regret getting an Auto and sometimes both. So get a 4x4 with MT then tune it with OVTune because the factory tune is shit. There are no other good alternatives that come close (imo) except the Frontier... old, but it's solid.

I don’t regret the auto and know people who regret the manual, but that’s mostly in the group I go Offroad with.
