Arthur stopped eating a few days ago so we took him in yesterday. We just got the lab results, and thankfully it doesn't look like he has heart problems like his brother. His pancreatic enzyme levels are up, so the vet thinks he's got a mild case of pancreatitis which can make them nauseated and uninterested in food. We just started him on ondansetron, which is an anti-nausea med used in human cancer patients. Hope it works itself out.

Similar to symptoms Suki had months back. Just make sure you keep him hydrated. You can use a syringe to squirt down his throat of do Subqutaneous fluids. Any vomiting or diarrhea? Also ask your vet about Purina fortiflora. We have used it as directed by adding it to wet food and also mixing with water and squirting down throat with syringe. This really helps if the cat isn’t eating but also isn’t vomiting either. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.

The only symptoms that he has is eating much less than usual and being jumpier than normal. We're watching him very closely, and he's going to a specialist in a few days if the ondansetron doesn't help.

So Arthur is doing somewhat better. He's eating again, and is behaving normally. We have to keep up the drugs for a few more days and keep an eye on him, but other than time there isn't much to be done for pancreatitis.

In other news, I was able to play The Grinch That Stole Christmas for him. We wanted to see if he would go nuts over it again this year (see above). He loved it! I put it on the big screen and as soon as Boris Karloff's narration started up he jumped off the couch and sat as close as he could to the TV on the coffee table and stared at it unblinking for the whole show. Every time a commercial would come on he would spin around and stare at me until I fast forwarded back to the show. It may be the cutest thing he's ever done. The pics aren't great, but you can see him fixated on the screen. His brother Henry was sitting with my wife on the other sofa, and he didn't care one bit. Anyway, as soon as the show was over, Arthur just stood up, turned around, jumped back on my couch, and went to sleep next to me. We have no idea why he likes the Grinch so much, but my theory is that it's something about Boris Karloff's voice. I need to play a movie that he's in to see if Arthur likes it too.

Glad to hear he is feeling better. Hope this was just an isolated case and it doesn’t flare up again.
So awesome about the grinch show and funny that he would act the same way a year later.
