Not to mention the countless amount of scratches and dents that a brand new truck would get. You’d have way more fun if you’re not worrying about the truck.

It just says TRD off-road. The 4x4s say TRD 4x4 off-road

The same thing happen to me several years ago. I live in md and it does not snow that much but when we get snow it can be a lot. I brought a Ford 150 lighting back then and we had 1 inch of snow on the ground and I could not make it out of my driveway. That was a painful lesson for me. Two months later I traded that truck in for a 06 Tacoma 4x4 sport which I had for 10 years. One of the best descisions I ever made. All I can tell you is suck it up and hold on to it for a little while then trade it in for a 4x4

Look at it this way. It is better to have it and not need it than to not have it and need it. When it snows here I get a kick out of taking my Tacoma off-road our to take on the challenges. Good luck my friend

The dealership that sold OP the 2wd for $40g plus tax lacks integrity. Sure they made a deal, but they took advantage of a new buyer.
Everyone knows that he was robbed. Heck depending on the market you could have bought a pro for a bit more. Toyota should be embarrassed about making that deal

Thats a bummer man, I got mine for 35-36k out the door (Tacoma TRD OR 4x4 Long Bed) but I researched and got two dealers fighting to sell me the truck and I also did my loan through a credit union not the dealership. and ended up with 1.8% loan, that being said that was after learning the lesson of buying a new car from bad experience of friends. (They didn't put enough money down, bad loans ;16-28%!! and shopping for a truck because the were lusting for the truck); I say life lesson and help someone else not make the same mistake

I seriously doubt that OP grossly over paid for the truck to begin with. I would suggest OP hold on to it for at least two years and then do a trade. I know it is a bitch driving a something you don’t like for two years. Dealerships are not in business to take a loss

I keep hearing people saying this and it makes me wonder how many poor, poor souls have spent $35-$40k on a brand new Tacoma OR not realizing that it wasn't 4WD, lol. I'm sure it probably happens every day.

Would it feel like finding a suitcase full of $100 bills in a ditch on the side of the road, only to find out afterward that they're all counterfeits, or only half printed (one side)?

I spent 40,000 on my loaded OR 4x4 out the door and I did research. I also had mine ordered. Pretty good deal to me because that is what they were selling for with those options in my area

yea, they charged you too much...but that aside....

How often do you go to Big Bear? How often do you really plan on offroading this truck to the extent that the rear-locker you currently have is not enough? Is this your daily driver? If so, do you want it all beat up?

I would keep it, at least for 2-3 years, learn its capabilities and have fun with it. After that period if you still hate it, you wont be upside on it anymore and can trade it in for something else

I think you kinda should at this point. You can't blatantly call someone a liar and not explain why.

So far, we are lead to believe that you didn't do enough research to know what was a good price to pay for a 2WD truck. Are you now implying that they lied about it having 4WD? Inquiring minds want to know.
