    @PsiBlast @Ck1010

I was just playing with mine again to see if the hood being open kills reservation mode / disables the truck from starting (spoiler, it doesn’t, truck starts right up)

Here’s the video. Check out the end where you can see I click lock 3x but too quickly and nothing happens. Then I just try it again slower and she starts right up. You guys might not have wiring issues at all, might just be a 3x click timing issue.

@jayrobot let us know if you have any ideas for a hood-ajar disable in the future. Would be really useful

    Thanks for sharing @doublethebass

In my case, the truck flashes lights and seems like it wants to start, but doesn't. So it probably is a wiring issue for me.

Did it include the hood pin?

No. There was no need to be redundant, since we already have hood sensors.

I already have the solution, but try doing this for me, roll your windows down and keep the doors and hood shut then start it. Reach in and pull the hood release and tell me what happens then.

On everyone else’s it doesn’t start. Need to know if it’s just you or a manual thing... @Army504 report to duty!

There’s clearly a “hood ajar” sensor on the truck by I don’t think adding a hood pin that’s tied into the N2 system is redundant in this case.....the hood (having it open to begin with or opening it while the truck is set) doesn’t affect the reservation mode or the remote start command.....it would be good to have it kill the reservation mode and disable the remote start command.

I realize that’s an extra project for you (and you and I talked about it over the phone a few weeks ago) but maybe somewhere down the line when things slow down we could look into it

Or it could be you didn’t push in the green blade fuse you mentioned bumped off earlier, really well back in. Try turning it 180 degrees and re-inserting. It should not be at an angle. It sounds like your car wants to crank, so if it’s not getting that clutch cancel signal, nothing will happen. How can we check, peek in and see if Clutch cancel lights up or not, DONT forget reservation mode, ever between testing. It’s easy to open a door and forget so during testing.

It says that on every manual like directional manual not 6MT manual...but not necessary. PTS guys can even tell you...but I can send you this no problem.

Are you saying the OEM pin can be tapped into and run to the Evo module and that we don’t need another physical pin or to run additional wiring through the firewall?

I’m not sure, for everyone else, no, manual should be no different. I’ll have to look into that and get back to you. And if you do put mine, you will need to run it through the firewall and unbundle the taped off harness to access that one wire. Most would rather live with this minor detail. Put the warning sticker I gave you somewhere clear line of sight in the engine bay.

if you can figure out how to get the hood to trip the reservation mode and remote start command without having to run a physical pin, that'd be way better!

    Hey jimmy,

Any benefit of having the 4g smart module vs 3g?

I'm sure its mentioned somewhere in this thread. Maybe if your product wasn't so damn popular and this thread wasn't a thousand pages long, I would look through the thread.

@jayrobot - I took the dash apart and found the problem! The cable connected to the red crimp head (on the yellow clutch start cancel wire) fell off.

I connected it back, and tried again. I can get the truck to start now, but as soon as the engine starts, it immediately shuts off like half a second later.
