I'm very familiar with Graf, spent most of '84 there, building the new tank range with most/all of the Army's Combat Engineers that were stationed in Europe at the time. I was stationed in Darmstadt, and blew the engine in my 5/4 ton Dodge pickup twice, running the autobahn on supply runs between Graf and Darmstadt. I had friends in the motor pool, and they liked the work...

Inside that building; that's my coworker, who didn't always have his hand on his junk! The top bunk was mine, and that area was where we held a lot of games of spades, always with 2 of the 3 white guys from Minnesota on one side, and 2 of the brothers from the unit on the other, slinging racial smack talk at each other that would cause a congressional hearing these days. All in good fun; good times.
