As the title says, I was recently rear ended by an 07 Chevy Silverado. The truck fared pretty well considering just how hard he hit me but the bumper is of course destroyed. Im hoping that someone is able to point me in the direction of where I might be able to find a new bumper for relatively cheap, looking at the parts list and pricing from the estimate I got the bumper (and associated parts) is $1387. Since it is a lease unfortunately I will need a stock bumper instead of aftermarket. Thanks in advance for the help!

If you were rear-ended then the other person had to pay. Take it to a Toyota approved shop and have their insurance pay for it all.

    Doesn't work that way.
Going through it now as I was rear ended two weeks ago. It's what your insurance policy allows.
I'm requesting OEM but waiting on an answer from my insurance co.
Even though they spec aftermarket my bed and some other things can only come from toyota the bumper and taillight lenses are available in aftermarket
Form so that's what they want to spec. Trying to get all OEM if possible but we'll see.

They have sent a check for the amount of the original estimate. This estimate included new OEM parts straight from Toyota. I'm trying to figure out if anyone knows where I can get the parts for cheaper than this.

Yep mine was quoted with that as well but still having an issue getting them all OEM.
Maybe look for crash parts off a wrecked truck..?

I don't really understand in what way you mean it doesn't work. I received a quote for repairs, the quote was sent to their insurance, a check for that amount has been sent to me. If I can find a bumper assembly from a wrecked truck like you said, or someone who has put an aftermarket bumper on their vehicle and no longer need the stock one, I don't see why that would be an issue.

It's not an issue and if you can do that it would work and work in your favor.
The check they are sending me goes directly to the auto body shop doing my repairs and unless they can get the OEM parts for the same price or less they are required by my insurance co. To use aftermarket. Been e-mailing and on the phone with them for the last two days concerning this issue.
If you already have the check allocated to you for the estimate using OEM parts your lucky. Try and find a better deal if you can if not then pay for new OEM since you have the funds.

I see what you are saying now. The check was sent out today, so I don't have it yet. Now though, I am not sure the check is in my name. I think I remember the representative saying that it was but they might have just been saying it was sent to me. I could see them using this as an extra layer of protection so that they shop wouldn't be able to cash the insurance check made out to them without the work being done. If I hold the check, it is no different than if I were paying them directly. I guess I will just have to wait and see what the check says once it gets here.

Exactly, it replaces the stock rear plastic bumper that got “destroyed”

I dont disagree with what you're saying and implying, but my truck is a lease. If I put a bumper that is not Toyota/TRD on it (or one that at least looks the same) I either have to buy one when the lease is up and put it on, or pay a shit load in fees to have Toyota put one on if I turn it in with that one on there. I'm just not about having to buy a bumper in a couple years out of pocket. If it werent a lease I would have already ordered one like that

Y'all are idiots. OP is making a simple request here.

OP check FB marketplace for take-offs because in 2018 it's the new craigslist.

Then if you can't find anything get the part numbers and search each one individually on Ebay and Google Shopping.

Hopefully you can pocket a couple hundred at least. Good luck.

That makes sense. Try to find some takeoffs. If not there are some online places that are slightly cheaper than msrp.
