I don't think that's correct.

If you read the quote at that link, Mat (aka OVtune) specifically wrote: "ECT D mode would no longer be functional, in trade for S Mode gear locking when you press the ECT button"

Post 1266 in that thread he goes on to say that it’s optional. I hope it’s optional, I want to keep ect-d and etc-s4 for towing without shifting.

I bought an automatic, at the time all that went down I thought it kind of weird that everyone was so down with turning their auto into a manual.

 

Yep but does seem like it would be a fun mode especially off-road...

 

I had a VW Jetta with the DSG transmission, and it was awesome. Automatic when I was lazy, clutchless manual when I was feeling sporty.

 

A little concerned about the single test truck.

Good question, I can't make it work either (ECU not present).
I even contacted Carista support, who sent me the beta version, that still won't do it.

Pretty sure you can flash it with the ect in S when your not towing and when you are towing flash it so it works normal

 

Is it normal to have this UPS tracking status on my order for about 3 days now?

 

LOL, just tried that one, it wanted $15 to activate the "feature" that reads ECU information
