Well I know exactly why they squeak. Just a matter of replacing the cheap ass add a leaf with one that has squeak pads installed.

lucky me, I get both :bananadance: specifically though, it's usually the bushings/bolts squeaking in the main eyes and shackles. I've replaced all but one so far with the Daystar greaseable bolts which has helped.

Is that when you set them to the side and never touched them again?

Anyone try packing around that bearing with grease to avoid contamination?

Finally changed out my needle bearing for the ECGS bushing. Not too bad of an ordeal. Finally no more growling driving down the road!!

On the outside of the grease, yes, but should keep the inside clean.

Given those bearings are less than ten bucks, I don't think it's worth the hassle. :notsure:

Just plan on getting one year out of the lower bearing if you wheel.

Doesn’t seem to be super common on the 1st gens. Around 30-50mph it would have a sorta pulsing vibe in the front end. Put it in 4WD and it immediately stops the vibes. I’m running cheap aftermarket CVs so it possibly caused it to be a little worse for me. Ive got 882s with an ARB bumper and the cv angles don’t seem too horrible

You will love using plain old starting fluid. Spray the stain down and throw an old towel on the liquid mess. Capillary action will pull the oil and stain up.
No fucking around waiting around if you use soap and water. The either evaporates in 30 seconds. Respray if its a particularly stubborn stain. Brake clean works too, but that is an extra buck a can.

Well, a few post before that it was mentioned to wash it off and rinse with water.

Oil to the storm drains is a no no. Turning the stain into a solid waste is a lot more environmentally responsible.
