Alright hes going to be getting ahold of you shortly. Just be aware even selling a new 4wd at invoice you are going to be dealing with a good amount of neg equity.

Maybe even consider trading into a 36mo lease in order to shave off some neg equity and bring down the payment. After the 36mo lease u can buy out or trade into a purchase.

    Just some ideas

I financed with toyota because the F&I douche convinced me 9.99 was the best i could get with my credit and i didnt have time to go shopping around. I went to my credit union 6 months later and got 2.9. Dropped $110 and 6 payments.

I just looked at Autotrader and there are a buttload of OR 4x2 at $40k+. Who would buy an OR that is 2 wheel drive for $40k, boggles my mind

I would have so paid another 12 - 1,500 bucks to have had a rear locker with my sport trim. We all want what we can't have or didn't get. lol

$1500 will get you an ARB air locker setup for the rear

This is very true. As soon as I can afford to I getting rid of the suspension and going to do some 5100s or similar.

The rear end is ridiculously bouncy. Minor washboard roads and your all over the place

I know. I still have nightmares about it. I test drove it and asked where the 4x4 shifter was. The guy in the car with me then told me that it was not 4wd. I feel like Toyota made the 2wd off road model to trick people. You're not doing too much off roading with 2wd lol. Some kid at my school just bought a used second gen pre runner with 35" tires, 4" lift, armor, etc. I wonder if he knows its 2wd.

While for obvious reasons I would prefer OEM, I'm seriously considering an ARB. I don't trust myself with the install, so probably closer to $2,500. Finding a shop i DO trust with the install is really the only thing seperating me from the locker.

I would go with the 8100 series if you can swing it...very nice. But I am very prejudice towards Bilstein, and I think they produce the finest shocks/struts in the world, but that's just me.

You guys are brutal. Not everyone wants 4WD and not everyone who buys a 2WD is an unknowing fool. In the Jeep Gladiator thread you laugh and point out that 90% will never go off road. (I'm betting it's 99%)

Just maybe they want the look of the 4WD truck without wanting the 4WD.

This I can agree on. although
truth. I knew exactly what I was doing when I got my 2wd I knew damn well I’m too particular to off-road my personal truck. I also knew I live in a place where if you don’t offroad there’s no point in paying 2500-3000 more for 4wd

Nothing wrong with a 2wd truck, but a 2wd truck with off road everything is a party foul ;)
