Like someone else said, your best bet is to find it on a lot somewhere. The best way to find where it's at is to take it to your dealer and see I'd they could send one of there guys down to pick it up. If they can then it's typically within 3-4 hours from that dealer.

You can do that yes, but they won't go down as much on the $ and you'll have to pay them a fee to go pick it up. I would mention this to them and see if you can somehow get it out of them where it is located and then you can see if it's possible to drive there or not. When my mother bought her rav4, my father found it through the process of elimination in columbia sc.

Well, first off the 2011 models are about $1,030 more than the 2010's right off the bat (msrp pricing)

Second, you may, or may not be able to get a better deal OVER INVOICE on them, depending upon supply in your area, and where the dealer is at on their quota's. In reality (removing a rare month end quota issue and factory rebates), you should be able to get either year model for the same amount over the dealers cost. So figure on the $1K difference as probably the only amount you'll save.

I live in Charlotte and none of the dealers had the truck in the color I wanted with the Sport package. One offered to pick it up but I thought the price was high. I ended up searching the Toyota site and getting a list of dealers within 200 or so miles. I searched all of the inventories by going to each of the dealer's sites. Ended up going to Hendersonville (Bryan Easler) where they had the best price I could get quoted at for the exact truck I wanted.

In general the dealers aren't too flexible on the 2010 prices right now since Tacomas are moving and the 0% financing is still available. If you want a 2010, then I would recommend finding a couple of dealers within a 100-200 mile radius and then getting quotes. If you get one that is lower than the other, then call the others to see if they can match it or beat it. I found internet shopping to be an ideal way of avoiding all of the BS games they are going to play once you arrive at the dealership.

Exact same process I used. I was luck enough to catch the truck before it came off the boat at port and got it redirected to my local one.

2010 if you can find one. There are pretty much no noticable changes between the 2010 and 2011. Nothing of consequence that is. Then again if NC is anything like CO, there's never any dealing on Tacomas any time of year so depending on model your real savings might not come on the truck, but on things like vehicle registration fees (definitely will be higher with a 2011).

My dad bought my 2010 black double cab SR5 tow package 4x4 for around 28,000 after a little bargaining so I'm sure you could get one for around 26,000

    Just gettin started
Also the 2011 will add the Tx Pro package with the TRD exhaust, TRD Beadlock style wheels and graphics(debadge anyway). The new TRD wheels look Bad Ass on the Taco. Don't know if U could add the TRD wheels and exhaust on a 2010 for less $ or not. For sure the 2010 will have better deals right now and the money U save could B used to add the goodies.:rasta:

Just keep in mind that some of that savings will go bye bye as soon as you drive it off the lot (2010) and it depreciates a years worth in value. I would be willing to bet money you can still get a 2011 at invoice. I know I could.

My goal is to have payments for under $500(please let me know if you think this is unreal). So from what I can tell with the 3.9% interest Toyota is offering. If I could manage to get the truck (tags and all) for 27,000 or 26,000 and put down $3000 I would have payments under $450 a month. Which would be ideal with insurance to!!!

Just incase you were not aware and not to bust your bubble, that low interest rate is for people with high credit scores. At 18 years of age, I would be very suprised if you qualify for that rate.... hope I am wrong.
