Per a snow depth map, coming up off of 20, snow looks like 4" mostly, a spot or two up to 10" close to Bowman. By Sawmill looks like 10". Right now.

If for some reason we can't make it to Sawmill, we can always camp at Bowman. Odds are we'll be the only ones there.

F'ing spring chicken. Git off mah lawn! Everyone that I have met on TW group outings have been super helpful, courteous weirdos.

Not enough to have a build thread.
Can we repeat this trip, lets say, mid to end of January?

We can try, but we may have to take a different route. According to the info on this page, Bowman Lake Road is closed to wheeled traffic January 1 to March 31.

For folks who might come in from the north, can take 89 out of Truckee or Graeagle and turn west at the Little Truckee Summit. There is a snowmobile parking lot there, but if enough snow, that road to Jackson Meadow Reservoir etc., would be closed to wheeled vehicles, could get ticketed if caught.

Could always try 21 to 50 to 41 to 76 and pop out in the middle of jackson and bowman. Should be no locked gates.

Meadow lake road would be the other way but will cross even higher elevations.

All sounds like an adventure to me lol

I was thinking about the road I took out one time that comes out at or near the Hobart Work Station on 89. I think it's Holcombs and it runs into Henness Pass Rd, which runs into Meadow Lake Rd. It was a fun road.

If I had to go down there, I'd have to let another Taco owner I was out and about with last Spring know I was in his area or he'd be mad if I didn't let him know I was by. He quit Caltrans as his mom left him some money, he started out in Sierra City or Downieville.

I might be up that way. How long a trek up Bowman lake rd is it to Sawmill? Staying with the inlaws in Nevada city maybe I can get away for a day trip.
