What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Finished painting my taibgate and got it back on today with my rifle case mounting plates on and cables installed.
Then went to my buddies and took my hood off so he could vinyl wrap it while i wired his 4runner.

 

What is this axle wrap? And the purpose of a flip kit

What hi lift mounts did you use?

 

Or if you'll make some to sell for less than 150 lol

 

Axle wrap is the leaf springs flexing and causing the wheels to hop/lose traction under acceleration. Basically, when you mash the gas, the torque from the wheels pushing forward tries to rotate the pinion of the axle upwards. Lift blocks increase the length of the moment arm making it easier for this to happen.

A u-bolt flip kit doesn't help with axle wrap. It's for ground clearance. It nets you an extra inch or two of clearance under the axle since the u-bolts aren't hanging down any more.

Picked them up from @EddyRRT when I got my sliders a year or so ago

 

Easy splice and dice. TRS makes this easy with a harness that will connect the two. H1 is literally the most common and easiest retrofit to do.

 

Yeah sorta. Beefs up the mounts because I managed to bend one off road. It also moves the shackle back and down a little bit allowing more flex.

 

I did the seat spacer mod Lowes had the spacers in stock
bolt is 10mm - 1.25 x 50
total cost to do 2 seats was under $10

 

Got my element led amber cannons Installed, killer cab mount chop done by @Timbo's Customs, oil change with installation of new fumoto valve, and tire rotation .

Yellow fogs make such a huge difference in rainy/foggy/snowy weather..........

 

Did you have to buy new fog housing brackets to fit them?

Honestly I’m
It a huge fan of the color difference between the headlights and the fogs, but yes, in the rain and fog which we get often in north Florida, they make a HUGE difference

 

Might have to switch mine over to these. Sharp looking lights!
