every dealer I've ever price negotiated with tells me how they're giving the truck away for as low as they possibly can.

I'm guessing they'll decline your follow-up offer. When they do I would reply with a phone number and tell them that is your best offer and that you'll keep shopping. Remind them that you're ready to purchase ASAP if you find the right price.

    Offer less not more.
I purchased a new 2006 (June '06) with 6 CD player and alloy wheels for $24,700 and 27 miles on the odometer. Sticker was $31,295. No trade.

p.s. Brother-in-law was finance mgr at the time, might have helped a little.

Just a bunch of old crap
After talking to some friends in the car sales industry, internet pricing is essentially rock-bottom and usually not negotiated. There are exceptions to every rule, but don't expect to get much more off of the current internet price (especially not the 9% discount you offered).

Hit em up at the end of a month, too. Lots of sales guys trying to hit quotas, obviously.

unfortunately, negotiating on a used car is quite different than a new car. this is where you really do have to play the negotiating game. the problem is, you never know what they paid for it, and they don't get hold backs, etc.
