Mine was squeaking something awful in hot weather until the dealer agreed to replace the pedal assembly. I was worried it might come back when the weather warmed up again this year, but it's 112 here in AZ today and no squeaks so far.

My 02 squeaked when it was warm and humid. It never caused a problem in 121k.
    09 doesn't squeak at all.

For the squeaky clutch pedal problem, I was told to tighten the nut above the pedal, no squeak since then

My 2007 had a squeaky clutch pedal. Took it to Toyota- they lubed it and it stopped squeaking for 6 weeks. Just long enough for warranty to expire. I think I have seen a TSB requiring Toyota to replace the plastic bushings in the clutch pedal assy. If you take it to the dealer insist on it being replaced! Probably buys you a few more squeak free months.

An update: a friend of mine had this done a few months ago and it seems to have cured the squeak. At least in his case...

I don't have this problem with my Taco, but my 01 Honda Civic had this problem. It had nothing to do with the pedal and everything to do with the way my foot rested on the pedal. Took months to figure that out, from then on squeak free.

Try shifting with your foot oriented differently, it may eliminate the problem.

So my 09 does squeak occasionally. It seems identical to my 02's squeak. It's entirely superficial as far as I can tell. I doubt it will cause a mechanical problem, which is all I really care about.

My 06 has a squeaking clutch pedal. Also, a squeaking throw out bearing. Both are intermittent at this time.

A shot of lithium grease in the proper spot will stop the pedal squeak for a month or two. I have not addressed the throw out bearing issue yet, still waiting to see how Toyota addresses it (or ignores it).

My company truck is an 04 Tacoma 2.4. That one has a squeak from the clutch fork pivot. The pedal is fine. Clutch is fine at 120K. Wish my 06 would last 120K!

Mine creeked and I lubed it. It would go away for awhile and then came back. I crawled up under the dash and noticed the shaft where the problem is located. I rotated the shaft and noticed an alignment mark (yellow paint) on the collar and adjustment nut. I lined the two up with a finger turn and it has not made any noise since. Seems like if it is not lined up the end in the pedal assymbly is bound up as stated before. Mine turned with my fingers and was super easy to do. Before when I was lubing it I was not getting far enough under the dash to actually see the parts.

Hot humid GA weather = mine is squeaking & creaking again. Time to lube it up again.

I find that after I have driven around a little bit and the cab is cooled down from the AC, the squeak/creak goes away.

my clutch its self does not squeak. but when i let out on the pedal the pedal itself makes a very slight squeak sound. its more like spring squeaking as it compresses. i dont really notice it though.

to the people with the sqeaky pedal problem.....

look under the dash where the rod connects to the pedal there is 2 jam nuts... tighten them as much as you can BY HAND and it should solve your problem.

i got his tip from a memeber about and it worked great i havent heard a noise in 2 months now after doing that, and it was only the slightest bit loose when i checked it but it made all of the difference

5 trips to toyota and they coudlnt figure it out, 20 seconds of reaching under the dash fixed this.
