    That's great to hear, congratulations!

From what I've seen on social media, a lot of guys are waiting to see how 1.05 turns out. They know it's a big deal.

My Grandpa always said, if you have to choose, it's better to be too busy that not busy enough. Don't wait too long to hire someone for your own peace of mind...while it's better to be too busy, than not busy enough, it's best to have a good balance.

I am fairly confident that the "stock" version 87,91,93 of 1.05 will do it for me but I must try the "S Lock" too !

Are you thinking this will just be another email request and another download ?
Will I be able switch back and forth like we do now between 87,91,93 and stock without pestering the sh*t out of OVTune ??

Yeah, considering how some people completely lose their shit if they don't get a response/tune file within a day of paying for it!

Well after waiting as patiently as possible....LOL it's finally close or (soon) to getting released but as luck would have it my taco is in the shop for autobody repairs after getting rear ended...!!
At least two more weeks before I get it back.
Well I guess I can read all the glowing reviews that are sure to come and drive my anticipation through the roof...

I’ve been getting 20+ on the highway 18 city with about 800 miles on the 1.05 transmission file. Big time improvement from my 17/15 .

I like this idea too. I am not sure if I want gear lock, but I'd love to try it. Having it in Flash Manager as optional download will make it much easier for Mat, and customers.

The official IDs for 1.05 will be as follows:

    "OVT" ---- tune
    "1-05" ---- version
    "93" ------octane version

    Thanks

What is the consensus on the most optimal octane with the tune vs stock? I have always used 87, but with all this info on the detonations, would I be doing my truck a disservice by continuing to run 87, or should I just go to 91 in anticipation of 1.05? Is the added cost worth it?

This was going to be my exact question. Interested to hear Mat's thought @OVTune - I assume they'll be for 91.

This truck runs best on premium. Period. I have no doubt OVtune has this calibrated in a way that is as safe as possible with his tune... and it will survive on 87, probably...for awhile at least. But the "slight miss" and "pinging" detonation are a real issue with regular gas in this engine. The only answer is for it to retard the fuck out of the timing, robbing you of even more performance. No thanks. If crude spikes in price perhaps I'll reconsider... but for now 93 FTW

"Worth it," in this case, is an entirely subjective judgement based on each individual's financial situation, cost of local fuel, driving habits, etc.

You will definitely experience obvious improvements with higher octane fuel, but you're ultimately going to have to decide for yourself whether or not they're "worth it."

I've been running a 91 octane tune on 93/94 octane gas in my Rubicon for six years now, so I'm personally quite used to the trade-offs involved in such setups. Are the improvements worth the added costs to me? Absolutely.

So now the stealerships will be able to tell that we have a tune and void our warranties?

From the first full up with 87 I've had stumbling and knock conditions. It took ovtune and 93 octane to make it to where it was tolerable to drive

Let’s stop all the preliminary questions that are common sense so Matt can finish everything up and get it released!!!
