Anyone running one currently? I'm curious to whether or not I'm making a wise decision going with a Kenwood product, but I do like the fact that Garmin is the source of GPS. Thanks for anyones input!:D

Currently saving up for one. Got to demo one for quite a while. UI is a little wonky and its slow (slow to boot, slow touch screen response, etc.) but other than that its great. Lots of flexibility in the settings, eq, crossovers, etc. and they stay for each setting (like individual EQ settings front and rear for each input type, or dolby surround for DVDs but stereo with a little rear fill for mp3s etc) You wot find it lower than 1300-1400 in price.

Hmmm... It's sucks that nobody makes a good end-to-end dbl din nav unit. I just installed a Z120bt. The interface is pretty snazzy and boot is fast. It also reads and goes ready with a DVD-DL disc full of 320kbps MP3s fast. My old Kenwood 5120 took an easy 3 minutes to read the DVD-DL. ...BUT, I'm missing the nice 13band EQ, better crossovers, etc that the 9960 sports. I managed to get a deal I couldn't refuse on the Z, so that made my decision.

I'd like to see someone combine the capabilities of a Pioneer Stage 4 P99RS with a Z NAV interface and create the ultimate solution. I'd buy it.

agreed!!! i'm gonna def miss my z3, but an upgrade is in order. its wierd that such a simple thing as displaying the gps speed was my major sell point. i'm getting the 9960 installed tomorrow so i'll write a lil review on it.

So far LOVING the headunit! :D

Awesome features and easy to use! I'm incredibly happy! I know there were some bad feedback on it, however with all the new updates, its running flawlessly!

Through TODAY 7/7... 6AVE has an "make an offer" promo.

My Z120BT was a disappointment and is going back. I offered 1250 for the 9960 at 6ave. It was accepted and is now on it's way :D ...and the $150 rebate will bring that down. $1100 for 9960, not too shabby. Maybe I should have offered lower...

Is 6AVE an authorised Kenwood dealer? If not, you wont get the $150 rebate.

Congrats! be sure to check and make sure you have the new kenwood firmware update(fixes the problem a lot of people were having with HU resets) and the garmin update.

when you install, there's a usb cord in the back that retracts... just pull it out and install where you want (i used glove box). you'll also need the ipod cable if you plan on using that!

and the hu is stock camera compatible with the writeup that was done on the forum!

    i thinks that all!:D

and btw, these are the accessories i bought with the unit, in case any one else is wondering

    - Scosche TA2053S9B Dash Kit (so it looks good)
    - SCOSCHE TA02B Wiring Harness for 1987 and up Toyota (so I don't have to cut factory wires)
    - Kenwood KCA-IP301V iPod Video Direct Cable (so I can hook up my iPod)
    - PAC SWIJACK Steering Wheel Remote Interface (so I can control the unit from my steering wheel)

oh yea, dunno if your doing the install, but just ground the parking wire and your bypassed! easy as that!

its a fairly new model, and updates are constantly popping up from kenwood. nothing major, just small minor stuff. actually, a new update just came out this month but will have to wait til i get back in country.

here's a good website for opinions and questions, along with a toyota boot image!
