Pre 2010 fords you just dont touch.... ever since the recession "ended" ford has been kicking ass IMO. If i needed a full size, id skip right over the antiquated Tundra and get me an F150 with the NA'd 5.0L gasser and the 10 speed in a HEART BEAT.

I'm in one right now. 20mpg from the coyote in a lariat 4x4 is not bad at all. I really like the 10 speed but I would go back to the 3.5 EcoBoost if I had a choice (company truck gets swapped every 30k). The music from the 5.0 is better but I miss the turbo spool...

I agree too, the full size stuff is good. But remember they kinda had to get their act together after putting out bullshit for so many years. They were forced to get better, by toyota!

I just came back from Panama, and these new rangers were everywhere. Saw a raptor version aswell. Not as appealing in person. But In anycase, there was two to three times as many hilux’s around haha.

I test drove the new Ranger with the 10 speed automatic last month. It was so smooth, you couldn't even tell it was shifting.

Well they must have figured it out or make a better one than gm, the 8-speed or whatever it is in my grandparents Arcadia is just absolutely appalling. So much shifting and rubber banding it drives me nuts, I refuse to drive it haha.

plus I don't know, I feel like having that many gears is just excessive and also just create way more issues to go wrong

Seriously, although honestly to me every vehicle just started getting totally beyond ugly since 1990.

Now the 50s-70s? God damn they made some good cars

    Work in progress...
    an
I see a few more Rangers than I do Tacomas out on the pool routes. I think the Ranger, "Mazda", is just about as bullet proof as the Tacoma when it come to every day "gotta get there" type stuff.

Gm 8 speed is a joke.

Realistically the 10 speed doesnt have that many more moving parts vs say a 5 speed. If you do it right it only needs one more planetary gear set than a 5 speed.

Correct only drivetrain option regardless of packaging is a 2.3L ecoboost making 280hp and 310ftlbs... and likely has a VERY VERY flat torque curve due to being boosted which is AWESOME. Mated to the same 10 speed found in the f150 etc.

I definitely wanna test drive one (not that id give up my tacoma but im curious)
