Why not a socket on a short extension? That’s what I use every time.

Yes the hole is oil drain.

If I'm remembering correctly pretty sure it is a 2" hole, should be plenty of room too get socket with 3" extension in there to drain oil. 2" hole should allow oil to drain without getting on the top of the skids. If oil hole size is too small you could increase it by .25" or .5".

Make it large enough to run a piece of pvc pipe up and run your socket through that, then when the bolt comes out, the pipe funnels all the oil straight out. Sounds good in theory anyway.

Work has been slow, so I have been drawing. Working on mid and trans skid today. Need to verify all measurements but its coming along. Didn't have time to work on rear skid cross-member.

Looks like the government will be shutting down and I'll have a few forced days (weeks?) off work (merry christmas!), so I guess I'll have some time to work on my skids, too.

I've got a few sheets of coroplast that I've started cutting already, just trying to decide if I want to tackle the front skid too, or just focus (for now) on the trans skid...

Got my design laid out on steel today. Hoping to get to a buddies shop this week and plasma cut it out. Really don't want to chop saw and angle grind the whole thing.

Just got me some 3/16" plate for skids, and my CBI DIY bumper should be here tomorrow.

Can't wait to start throwing some sparks!

Will most likely use a plasma cutter to cut dashes along the bend lines, if I can ever get to my buddies shop. If I can't will try my hand at whiskey bending. Wish my pressbreak was bigger only can bend 16" at a time.

I was thinking of scoring it with a cut off wheel then bending with a BFH. If i had a welder id just cut it off snd weld it

Whiskey bend method. Just score one side with a cutoff wheel, then reweld the inside bend.

    Get a welder... ;-)
