I've pulled the front end apart on my base Tacoma and bought new control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods, Moog springs (81072), and a Daystar leveling kit.

I can't get the leveling kit together, but I can get the springs in by themselves. Even with the help with a spring compressor it just doesn't fall into place.

I feel like I'm missing something. Any tips?

It takes alot of pounding, cusing and massaging to get those it.
If I remember right when i did mine i used a crow bar to wedge the spring and lca down more whole i hit the spring with a hammer to slide it in

I can get the spring in with a compressor on its own, but with compressor i cant get the angles to match up. Did you just pry it all into place?

You sir, must be a magician, cause I can't figure this out. I've got two different types of springs compressors and I still can't get it in with the spacers. it must not mean to be. lol

You just gotta keep at it. I had a tough time couple weeks back with installing toytec coilovers, even at its lowest settings. Just kept at it...

Got it put back together, rented a different style of spring compressor. The style that goes inside the spring and grabs onto with two claws. Inserted it, with one claw not attached and facing downwards. The other claw facing towards the truck. Compressed the spring and it curved enough for me to get it starte seated in and back the compressor out. If both claws are facing up and attached, you won't be able to get the angle to seat the spring and most importantly it'll be too wide to slide out the bottom where the shock goes.

I had to use a long pry bar and use my chest to push it down and push the spring in by hand.
