Likewise. I’d be willing to pay for a pre-made kit. I don’t have the tools nor the inclination to acquire the tools and material to pursue this right now; however, maybe an enterprising user will soon.

I knew I should have traced the pattern when I bent up that line.

The good thing is, I was able to bend everything in one plane. I just "leaned" the upper portion over to meet the coupler and installed it first. Then eyeballed placement of the lower bend and hooked it up.
Bad news is, the standard tube bender you get at the auto parts store is too big.

If you use the pre flared 12" line, and you want it all to fit back under the heat shield, its a little too long, and you have to account for this by sending it toward the back of the vehicle and then turn 180 degrees, to get it back to the slave cylinder. I used a piece of 1 1/2" PVC as a bend jig. Its actually still a little big but you can work with it.

Lesson learned here is: I should have used a spare length of stiff wire or old coat hanger and use it to make a template while under the vehicle. It would have saved me about 4 times up and down under the vehicle to get the right bend locations.

Nice! Thanks for posting that. I will add it to the OP.

Pfft! I was under and out that many times trying to figure out where and how to mount that elbow to the plate. That's part of the game!:rofl:

I used a piece of eight gauge copper wire to create a template and got it pretty damn close, but I still had to do a bit of tweaking once I had the brake line made up. I can imagine it would be pretty tricky using just the brake line.

I have a bunch of brake line left over, but I don't have any more flare nuts, or I'd offer up some kits. I suppose I could order some more nuts.

IMO, getting the basic form without kinks is all that I would reasonably expect? A little tweaking with a part that is close is no big deal. As noted, getting the lines tweaked enough to start the fittings by hand is key.

Lemme know if you do some kits. I will happily link up any details.

Was able to get mine done this weekend. A 90 elbow fitting would have made it a lot easier, but got it done. Makes the truck and the clutch so much better!!

Sooo forgive my ignorance, but I wanted to double check the stuff I picked up.

    - pre-fab 12" length of 3/16" brake line, with qty 2 M10 X 1.0 male fittings. This is what the flare looks like (double flare?):

    192.jpg
Here are the parts with size reference. Question - there is about 1/2" worth of threads on the male fittings. Am I going to run into problems when I hook up the slave cylinder end (ie will it seat properly)?

    191.jpg

Lastly, here is what one of the seats looks like inside the female union (it's convex):

    193.jpg

I think I'm good to go, but thought I'd post here so that people who have done this mod can correct my ass if I'm wrong.

I updated the OP to add a screen dump of the part numbers for the 12in prefab line and coupler.

I'll make some pre-bent kits and sell them for $25 each. Any takers?

@tonered, please add my info to the OP for pre-bent kits. $25 each. I should be able to turn these around pretty quickly. I used a yeti tumbler to make my bends and it ended up fitting pretty good with minimal adjustments and the factory shield goes right back in place.

    Hey, Brian.

That is excellent. Thanks for taking this on.

Is the coupler included or just the formed line?

    I will update the OP.
