Update: topped off the coolant tonight, did another few rounds of bleeding. Just drove it around the block a few times for about 5-10 mins while running high heat and switching between some AC usage. Temp gauge stayed between 1/2 way and 3/4 to red. Parked it, popped the hood, no obvious leaks. Upper hose was hot to the touch, lower hose was a little warm. Does this sound normal?

Will do a longer (higher mph) test drive tomorrow.

I like to pull a vacuum on the cooling system after repairs then you flip the lever and you pull fresh coolant from a 5 gallon bucket and because the system is under vacuum once you crack that valve it wants to pull the coolant from the bucket and it stops the problems with air bubbles.

Update: truck temp is running normal it seems now. Drove it for awhile today and multiple times with no overheating. Was consistent at around 60-65% up the gauge.

HOWEVER, as I was finishing up my test drive and pulled in to park... my Check Engine Light came on. Code: P0505 IAC valve. Looks like my truck is idling a little over 1k rpm. I can’t see how this is related to changing the radiator... but it would be a rather strange coincidence.

I think I heard theres coolant from the engine that goes thrue the iac to give readings . You might still have air in there. I'm not really familiar with 1st gens but I swear I've heard of this on them.I would drive it hard for a few days to get the bubbles out then pop my neg battery cable to reset the eng lite. You should be good to go after that
