Bungie's Destiny

Just watched the Anthem trailer, looks pretty cool. Might have to join you guys in it. I havent played D2 in so long I dont know if I want to put in the time and effort to get leveled up.

 

Not worth it. I wouldn't waste my time with Destiny since they can't get their shit together.

 

Yeah, thats what I am saying, I've been trolling all your posts in here and came to that conclusion. I'll jump on the Anthem band wagon since its only a month and a half away.
I'm ready for a new game anyhow.

 

Why yes he is! neither one of us can wait for it to drop. If im not mistaken they will have clans so maybe we should start a Tacoma world group?

I think we'll bring our own clan over. We've been together for four years now. I don't know how many plan on buying it or sticking with Destiny but I do know a lot of us are looking forward to it and buying it. I pre ordered the Legion of Dawn Edition and I think a lot of others have also.

*EDIT* Our clan has played a bunch of other games since we have been together. We've gone from The Division to Titanfall II etc... But we mostly stuck with Destiny as our fall back game. That may change in the near future. At least for me it will.

Don't do it just because I am pissed at Bungie for the fuck up that is TBA and what's in store for the following year. That's just "my" opinion and you might think differently. I just vent in here since this is the Destiny forum. I'll give Bungie credit for when they pull off something amazing and I'll shit on them when they don't. The problem for me is... I'm invested deeply in this game and when it succeeds I'm happy. But when it fails... if fails miserably and it's always been that way. I would imagine if you went back though all the posts in this thread it is full of ups and downs and positive and severely negative posts from me alone.
If you haven't yet got into Forsaken you need to because that's one of the best expansions to come out of Bungie IMO.

Anthem is starting to shape up to be a good game. A couple of things that Anthem has going for it is they can see all the mistakes that Destiny and The Division have made and they took the best members from Bioware and put them on Anthem. It's been in development since 2012 so they have a lot to draw from. So I'm hopeful.

 

I just checked our 100.io site and there are only eight games scheduled right now and only two of them have actually filled up. That's how bad the vast majority of us in the clan think this direction that Bungie has taken the game sucks. There was almost always a page to a page and a half of games posted and almost all of them were full. Not now....

 

Yea man I totally understand all that, at the same time I thought you were pretty content with how the game currently is? I know I have been late in the convo, but whats the current beef with Bungie?

 

Lol... I won't rehash what I've posted over the last few pages. You can go back and read all of my complaints about the current state of the game if you like.

I'll summarize it though. The Forsaken was great. One of the best expansions Bungie ever released. Then they released the road map for the next year and there will be no more large expansions for the game from this point forward. So the first mini expansion came out a few weeks ago (The Black Armory) and it sucks complete ass. There are three forges that you can open up and all you do is throw balls at the middle and avoid adds. That's it. A raid lair that sucks balls and can be completed in 14 mins now. A few new weapons and some old ones returning. That is all we get until February. Then in that expansion there is no new raid lair at all. Won't get a new raid lair until June of next year. That's basically it... it sucks and it's fucking boring since there will be very little to do in game. Not even any new strikes.

So fuckit... I'm done with Destiny. I've been through enough ups and downs with this game that I'm just tired of it. I'll still log in from time to time but I'm done throwing money at this fucking game.

 

Lol... you would just add one more player. Not enough to fill out any of the groups still

 

Well shit man, I dont know whether or not if this is a blessing to move on from D or to try to start the grind? To hear you really throw in the towel def is a shocker cause man you have had some serious endurance. You dont think D wont pull you back in later?

 

It's really up to you man. This is just my personal perspective. I'm sure a lot of people still like the game but I can promise you that the vast majority are completely pissed at the moment. All it takes is one trip to the Bungie forums to see the level of discontent with the game in its current (and future) state. Especially when you factor in just how good Forsaken was.

I've stuck with this game since beta of D1. I've been through all the good times and bad throughout the entire life cycle of this game. I would venture a guess and say that I've probably invested over seven to eight thousand hours in this game. Even when the game was on a downturn I still stuck with it and sometimes I even defended it when it probably shouldn't have been defended. D2 year one was the worst that the game has ever been IMO because they dumbed it down so much. Then they pulled out Forsaken and I honestly don't think the game has ever been in a better place. The only thing missing was Trials but that could be forgiven at the time because all the other content was amazing. But now they have just dropped pretty much everything that was Forsaken. There really is no reason to go into the Dreaming City other than to run your daily and weekly bounties and that's it. All it takes is one look at the roadmap that they have put in place to know we aren't getting anything substantial in the coming year. So with that... I'm done. It's kind of bittersweet really because I've always considered Destiny one of my favorite hobbies.
I'm damn good at the game. There isn't anything in the game that I can't do. But the way it is now... I've no desire to even do it.

So to answer your question... Unless they pull another Forsaken out in the near future. No, I don't think I'll be back. I'll log in from time to time just to see what's going on but as far as playing everyday??? That has come to a screeching end for me personally. If Anthem sucks I'll go back to MMO's. At least I know how to play them and I know what I'm getting.

 

This kind of sums up The Black Armory. They scored it a 5.5 and if you switch over to the last Fireteam Chat... he, and the rest, are a little bit harder on it once the really get into the roadmap that Destiny is taking for the next year and that the new raid lair won't, and can't be fixed. It's unexciting, there is nothing much to do, and what there is (and will be) will be repetitive at best. But if you like throwing balls at a forge you will fucking love this game. Because that is what you are going to do over and over and over and .... well... you understand.

 

Thanks for breaking it down man. In a way I am relieved cause man I really don’t know if I have it in me to get one character to even level 20 or go through all the bullshit again. I’m thinning I will probably just sell the game back to game stop as man that’s a lot of hours just to catch up. I know I have a much less tolerance than you for D so if you threw it in then I def would too.

 

As rearview said. Don’t fully take his word for it. At least finish the game then quit. I still like the game and have plans to play everyday or so. I think casual people still like it...

I will say taking two characters from brand new d2 to current sucked majorly. But the first time through was fun.
