One thing you are forgetting. This is aftermarket tune and should be treated as such. It doesn’t have to be thought out. If you are afraid of potentially voiding your warrant then a aftermarket tune that alters factory parameters is not for you. It is really just that simple. He gave a reason why he is changing the ID, if you can’t deal with it then move on.

Things change, even faster now in this "I want it now" generational attitude. Maybe Mat should use the same disclaimer the dish/cable networks use when your channels all change. "It's to enhance your experience" I think it applies, and lordy, don't this truck need enhanced.

    No i am not forgetting
I have been tuned over a year myself (Purple Dongle!).
Matt indicated it was undetectable back in POST 53, YES POST 53
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ing-alpha-release.495735/page-3#post-15351647

If i want to stay undetectable, then I can stay at 1.04, I know that.
But I think we can all admit is IS a significant change.

Is what it is. Don’t like the new way, stay with 1.04. Do you think if he could have kept it the way it was or didn’t have a very good reason to change it he would have. Probably so.

This was before we modified hardcode (not just data sections) but actual code / lookup addresses / modified sections of memory, how the processor allocates table size in memory, etc.

    I believe I understand why.

Fundamentally what do you suggest if we need service and have a code to show the dealer.
Keep tune and take it in.
    (or)
Flash back, (loose the code), drive it around until code reappears, then take it into dealer. If they ask why it was reset like 10 miles earlier, tell them pulled the battery to try and clear code?

    Or something else?

I honestly am not trying to bust your balls. But none of that is his problem. He offers a product, you install said product knowing it alters your vehicle. Your scenario is all on you to figure out. YOU chose to install it not him

I’d get a code reader. Read code. Check tw for easy fix. If not easy fix, print off the reading and tell dealer that you pulled the codes and here’s what you got.

Worked for me before but I’m sure depends on dealer.

Are you guys getting codes often or something? I've put my truck through some pretty crazy scenarios and not a single code yet.

I've even flashed it ... at least 400 times
