Same could be said about calling a person a poser bc he cares that his property or vehicle looks nice. Not everybody that buys a Tacoma and lifts and does mods do it to off road or race. I race dirt modifieds yet I want my trucks to look nice and how I want them to look it shouldn’t matter to you if I buy a base model and make mods to it or not or if I buy a pro and make mods to it. It’s my damn money that I’ve worked hard for and ill do as I please with it

Traded my Predator tube steps a couple days ago for this 2 month old Leer 180 shell. It was red when I got it but for $300 my guy at the body shop fixed that!

 

When was that? When we still called black people the N word? Once upon a time in recent history people were still trying to condone and hang onto the use of the "N" word, with the same "screw this political correctness b.s." argument. Regardless of how you feel about homosexuality the ship has sailed on using gay as a derogatory term, especially on a public forum.

I'll admit, 20 years ago I was using gay as a negative word too with no intent on actually suggesting something was homosexual, "This weather is gay..." but now we know better or should.

 

I never said it was “right” or “acceptable” to use the gay other than referring to a homosexual. My issue is that people choose to be offended. This is a public forum (well semi public as you need to be confirmed after you register) and anyone is free to say whatever they please, and when someone comes into a thread that they are not forced into and has an issue with something. In America if you don’t like what someone is saying then walk away, turn off the tv or phone/computer, stop choosing to be a victim and just ignore the ignorant comments.

 

Are people offended? To me it's pointing out that TacomaWorld is a better place when there is meaningful contribution and the conversation doesn't make people have to walk away. It's better without ignorant comments that need to be ignored.

 

Then why is there an option to ignore someone? Because freedom of speech.

I don't think you understand what freedom of speech entails. The Constitution limits government infringement on the rights of the people, not Tacomaworlds. Tacomaworld is a private entity, it isn't subject to the first amendment. They could ban everyone that said "Ford Ranger" if they wished to do so.

The option to ignore people is there because some people can't conduct themselves in a meaningful manner.

 

It’s just as wrong for ppl to come into a thread and call a person a poser or whatever was said in the post I decided to refer to as dumb shit. He came and started questioning the guy for building a truck for his son instead of spending the money on a pro which is none of his damn business. If you don’t like what ppl are building then move onto the next thread instead of bringing the negativity to the board. I apologized and that’s as far as I’ll go. I get tired of ppl being smart asses to ppl for building a truck how they choose to build their truck. I have a gay or homosexual uncle named Tim. I don’t have anything against homosexuals as long as they respect me as not. I used bad judgement I guess by using a figure of speech. I come here to learn and check out cool stuff to do to my truck and get ideas not read ppl bashing a person for how they build their vehicle or what model they have. I’m no better than the next guy. I’m on the Chevy duramax forum too and I go there for the same reasons. I’ve got an LTZ not a high country but it’s what I wanted and I’m making mods to it too
