Amazing, and I agree. With the truck/tool, over time a person develops greater and greater mastery over that one tool, and that’s a connection I don’t want to lose. It keeps driving fun, and not a mundane task.

I really like the look of the 3rd gen and the interior. I wish they made a regular cab, 2.7 Manual still ( a manual TC would be nice too ). My 2013 with 20,500 miles will last me a while though.

That's truck is on its second engine. Still impressive, but the 1.2 million miles is a little deceiving

Can't believe I was missing out on this thread. As mentioned, simplicity, reliability, what a Yota is about. I had an 80 corolla (in 2004) 5speed RWD no drivetrain problems ever. then I stepped up to an 86 4runner- 22-re (in 2013) drove the thing as a daily driver and cross country, great engine too. So ya these 4bangers have a positive history. Bought this one new to see how it holds up, I plan to be with this thing for the long haul...

Seems like the people in this thread have a lot of Toyota experience.

Almost traded mine in on a 2019 Corolla Hatchback XSE Manual last week. Somebody slap me.

Tried the 3.5 with the 6 speed auto, not my thing. Traded for a 17 SR 4cyl 5speed 4x4 and drew 4,500 boot and never looked back. Had a crazy thought a couple months ago to sell it, finally come to my senses and decided to keep it. This is my 5th 2.7 and see no reason to change, truck has 37,000 miles on it now and many more to go

With my commute I rack up 100 miles a day and still like to go to the beach. My sr 3rd gen was the only thing I’d ever buy that would fit all my needs and I’m driving it until the wheels fall off!

jup true, cant beat it mines getting 23.2mpg automatic trans 4x4. once you get over the power issue and accept it the reliability and low cost ease of maintaining it over ride the power issue. plus side it still can be used as a real truck to get the job done

That’s the truth-earlier that week I yanked a stump out of the ground with it and the tool box you can barely see under the storm debris from that bag of dicks Dorian probably weighs 400lbs minimum.40C23516-F569-4A44-9EF7-1EED39826C79.jpg
