A question for those who have the ecgs bushing... when pressing it in, do you keep going until it hits a certain stop or is there a specific depth you're supposed to stop at?

You're supposed to stop at a certain point, if not, the bushing will contact the spider gear.

I have a 2019 Offroad on a 2.5in lift, roughly 9k miles and no indications of a needle bearing failure. Is this something that is bound to happen? Does the issue still exist on later years Tacoma’s?

Yes. Even on stock trucks. Its likely that your truck has the newer version of the needle bearing previously released as a TSB. I have both the old and new and and am not impressed by their newer bearing. IMHO run yours the way it is and if the humming shows up related to the front diff side bearing then replace i with the ECGS bushing.

ok thanks man, appreciate it. One of the shops local to me quoted 250 for the labor because he said it’s a huge pain in the ass. That seemed really high to me.

Lots have done it themselves and I have done quite a few but am no pro. Are you comfortable with doing DIY mechanical things?

It is not that difficult to change- plenty of threads here to see if it's within your ability. The new needle bearing I bought from Toyota 6 months ago appears identical to the OE bearing- same number of rollers in it; I would not expect any different results with it than how long your OE one lasted.

Looks like it's my turn. Our basically stock 2005 Tacoma (~96K miles) has been humming recently and I found a lot of slop in the differential end of the driver's side CV axle. It's our only vehicle right now and I don't have time to tackle it myself. Talked with a local shop this morning and ordered the ECGS bushing.

Props to ECGS! I ordered the bushing online this morning. The only shipping options were FedEx or UPS, and all were a bit spendy. I added a note that it's OK to send it to my PO Box if they want to. They emailed my order confirmation and changed it to USPS shipping (with tracking number) at a much cheaper price. Excellent customer service!!
