I'm looking for a new toolbox for my 2002 tacoma DC. Now, the only complication is finding a toolbox that clears my wheel wells in the bed. On top of that, I'd rather not pay $400 for a UWS toolbox although I'd really like one they're just too expensive for me.

Lowes/Home Depot sell some for around $300. If you want decent storage space, get one that forms a "V". Pretty much the bottom will it inside the wheelwells. You'd still have some space underneath the box which is always good. Here's some pics of mine

Stop into your local Autozone or Advanced auto and ask to see their boxes...

My Duralast/Betterbuilt box took a beating and sadly went with the truck when it sold....;)

If you’re patient you can find deals. I found my uws w keys for $75 on CL. It’s not low profile but is a slim line box, sits right below window and doesn’t take up half of my bed.

Talk about a thread revival. Hahaha. I got a new UWS box, then sold it and got a bed rack and built a custom toolbox, then sold the bed rack and got bed bars with a RTT, and now she's naked again. @Sreppep @Sperrunner
