I did the same thing to my 2018 Toyota Tacoma and after driving it for 24 hrs and turning it on and off everything reset and now works perfectly. It is worth the hassle! Looks nice.

Congrats on being 20 and having a nice truck. I bet you'll care for it way more than if someone gave it to you. We're all here to help regardless of what you have. With that said, I have no idea of the solution but I do have a friend who is a master tech at Toyota. LMK if you want me to ping him.

I guess if you don’t mind. I’d really prefer to stay out of my dealer if it’s possible.

I wouldn’t worry about it for a few days. If it doesn’t reset itself, put the old grill back on and take it in. Takes 10 minutes to swap back out.

Don't let it bother you. There are people on here who want to help, there are people on here who like to joke with you and that's ok too. Then there are the slimy. Nothing you can do about them but ignore them.

Well. I can’t let this thread continue with this. I’m about to sound dumb. I connected the wire at the top of the harness but didn’t reconnect the harness to the sensor....

I've disconnected my sensor a number of times and it never needed time to get working gain. I'm not saying that it can't happen, just sharing my experience.

I just ran out and disconnected it and I see the same behavior - tpms not working and the error. I would bet that the one side of the connector isn't seated properly - there is a connector at the sensor as well as up near the top of the grill. Or perhaps a pin was pulled out of of one of them by accident while installing.

Take a good look at both ends, check the connector pins for damage (if possible?) and give it another try.

I hope this helps. For what it's worth it's all I can offer.

edit: I think that if it was connected properly, even if the sensor itself was bad or impeded, the TPMS would still work. It's behaving as though it is not connected at all.

Oh, man. Sorry I missed your update!

Glad that you figured it out. I didn't mean to sound like a monday morning quarterback. lol

Learning experience, I'm sure that will never happen again to you. However if you were me it will still happen all of the time. :)

It happens. Sometimes the most probable answer is the correct answer

Well it was late and almost dark and I was pulled in a shed with no lighting so I’m gonna blame it on that. Or my lack of attention :rofl:
