Almost. We're postponing Christmas by a few days so we can have it together. She was able to take leave for a few days so she'll be here for our daughter's bday on New Year's Eve then get to stick around for a couple more days before heading back.

 

Morning Everyone
Just got done feeding and fixing a gate. Had the welder running and flipped up my hood and four fat does just hanging out watching me within 70 yards and gun in truck.

 

There are many things in life I don't understand... Many things we're not meant to understand. But why on Earth do schools insist on making a child show up for school for only a half-day, in their pajamas, only to watch movies all morning and then get released before noon right before they have two weeks off for break? Yesterday they just had Christmas parties for most of the day. If you're going to bother making them go to school, then make it worthwhile dammit. Otherwise, let me sleep in

 

Something about the number of days kids required to attend school a year

Oh, yeah, I get that. Gotta fulfill their quota. Kinda defeats the point though if they're not going to be learning anything. Not to mention a half-day puts a tremendous strain the the parents that have to adjust their schedules to accommodate their children being released early

 

and also money the school gets when they attend

Did you know the school gets money from you even if you don't have a child going there it's in the property tax you pay end of every year

 

You think that's bad next year the school district voted on a 3 week Christmas instead of 2 you imagine the strain that puts on parents cause now you have a pay for another week of daycare

 

Yes, I don’t mind paying some but think it should be the same for older people that do not have kids in school.
