Naw, man. Not your fault, the other guy's insurance should pony up and your insurance should push it. If they are not, your agent isn't doing his or her job. Get your manager. That shit should be handled.

If you did all of that work within this past yr. I would argue for more that sounds like a value of current sales in the area for a stock truck and that upgraded like this with the quality of parts makes it more valuable. I would agrue that as well. Your ins. company may or may not want to work with the other ins. company on your behalf that is a crap shoot. Also since it was someone else's fault and their ins. is handling it they are not going to step in and make you an offer on the truck and then fight the other ins. company for the $$$ you can try it and see but not sure that will play out well. Doesn't hurt to ask your insu company about that. It's always a fight to get proper value of the vehicle.

What do you owe over their offer? The at fault insurance is not obligated to pay off your loan, unfortunately.

Use this as a guide to help value your truck:
    http://www.nada.com/

If you get your insurance involved, then they will open a claim. If the at fault party is otherwise uninsured- and if you dont have uninsured motorist coverage- you may have to take their offer.

Do as much research as you can. Keep us posted, hope it works out.

This makes me worry about having coverage with USAA. :anonymous:

Right now I owe over 14k and bought it 3 years ago in WA State, so it was a much higher market. They are only offering ~1k over the loan. Told me all of my stuff was worth 500. Even after showing receipts for the year.

I plan on it. I'm really not wanting to get screwed over here. USAA is really "fighting" for their veterans for sure........

I’ve never had an issue with USAA and none of my accidents were my fault. Are you dealing with the other insurance company directly or is USAA doing it on your behalf? Did you open your own claim with USAA?

I opened my own claim with USAA but they never spoke to progressive and were quick to try and drop my claim when they knew progressive contacted me and I wanted them to look at it. Maybe i messed up, but I would hope they would tell me not to and try to help me whatsoever.

Same, except all my accidents have been my fault and I never had to fight for anything. Rental car for days and no issues fixing damage.

@j_sav115 did you have GAP coverage? I wonder if that would pick up what progressive doesn't cover up to your payoff amount.

I honestly have no idea how this works for a totalled vehicle. But I do know that USAA should be fighting for all of your reparations and they should be in contact with Progressive on your behalf. You should only be talking to your provider, not the other party's.

I've got a first world problem...

I have a $1k AMEX gift card I got from my boss, that can't be redeemed for cash (unless someone knows a hack), so I figure I'll spend $750ish on truck parts and the remaining on small stuff for around the house.

    Here's what I'm thinking:

    1) Prinsu Cab Rack
Pros: Looks cool and that's about it
Cons: Probably will really never use it, mpg takes a hit, wind noise

    2) Clazzio seat covers
Pros: What I want is in stock, looks nice, dog hair doesn't stick to leather as badly
Cons: I don't really like leather as too slippery, seat heaters take slightly longer to heat up

    3) Softopper
Pros: Looks cool, practical for keeping shit (mostly) dry, easily removed
Cons: Renders my rear view dash cam useless, rear visibility goes to shit

    4) OGE dual battery kit
Pros: two is one and one is none
Cons: wouldn't ever really need it, doesn't include cost of batteries (more $$$)

    5) Fuck it, use it for normal every day purchases (gas, groceries, etc).

Gap will only pay if the received amt is less than the pay off. It covers the GAP so to speak.

Right. I was thinking that the offer was less than the payoff?
