It’s even where I live. I see both the ranger and the Mazda on the road still. My neighbor takes his Mazda to work everyday. He recently changed his transmission.


I’m not saying Tacoma isn’t more reliable.

The FRS/86 is one of the most reliable sports cars ever made. That Doesn’t mean it’s actually fun to drive. That doesn’t mean it’s going to be the sales leading sports car, which it’s not.


Toyota won’t commit to really adding a cool factor to their cars/trucks even their Lexus cars. There is a TRD Camry now. Did they put the Corporate V6 turbo in this “TRD” Camry? Did the put the 350hp hybrid motor in this “TRD” Camry? No. They just put a bunch of 90s style tuner “mods” like a body kit.


It’s like this...

Most young guys out there don’t want to drive a Toyota. They don’t even want to drive Lexus cars, which wasn’t the case the 90s. Toyota destroyed the small amount of cool factor they had when they killed off their sports cars, and made Lexus the most boring Grandma brand.


The Tacoma IS connecting with that young male demo, but they are not going to the Tacoma for reliability. The Tacoma somehow is becoming a “cool” vehicle because of its looks and social media.

You guys are coming at me with all this engineering and physics BS that the young male doesn’t give a crap about.

The Ranger has a Ford badge, which already makes a cooler truck, but it also has a proven power train that can put out at most 350hp. Aftermarket tuning for this engine will Explode.

Take off your grandpa hats for a minute and think with your balls like a young man would.

I'll take the beautiful looking Toyota Tacoma over the wannabe Ford Taurus Pick up.

This is coming from a fan of the older model sport Rangers with side steps. This new model is really hideous.

That’s a parts-bin vehicle that nobody in the 100K+ Market would even think about buying.

The Supra was featured in the Fast n furious.

The Lexus GS was featured prominently in Jay-Z’s classic “dead presidents” and “99 problems” videos.

The Toyota Corolla was the face of the widely popular Initial D anime.

What has Toyota done with the clout it was given?

Lexus literally took the iconic GS bubble design and turned into RWD Camry. Toyota of America is now puzzled why no one buys GS anymore.


The AE86 was brought back with the disappointingly slow GT86/FRS. The 86 is now a commercial failure

They borrowed a chassis from BMW and slapped a Supra badge on it. The Supra is already DOA.

 

Ranger doesnt even look right in an offroad setting.



I dont see young men flocking to that unless they wear flannel, skinny jean's, long beards and slicked back hair.
