    Howdy,

I'm about to hit 60K miles on my stock tires. I want to get a new set in the 285/75r16 which is what I understand to be taller than stock, but not wider. This truck is my daily driver and it gets light off road use every now and then. I do drive it a lot compared to other apparently. Ive had it two years and already hit 60K, so gas mileage is a bit of factor and the reason Im not going with 67lb Wildpeaks which I might get later when I dont drive this truck as much.
I will be putting in a lift to fit these tires on. Im debating on the following:
    Mickey Thompson ATZ P3
    Good Year DuraTrac
    Open Country A/T2
They would all be P rating and A/T not M/T since I mostly drive on the road and only O/R lightly every once in a while (driving on the sand where most vehicles can, cruising around a ranch type stuff).
    Let me know your recommendations.

285/75s are significantly bigger than stock and will rub short of a cab mount chop and fender well trimming. Both wider and taller. Also I'm not sure there's any P-metric A/T 285s available. Almost all are LT with E loads or the occasional C or D.

I just put 285 70 17 ridge grapplers on mine and super happy.
Not much more road noise than OEM tires and look way better and im sure will be way better in dirt

I usually go with round tires. Always do me pretty well.

I have 285/75 26 atz p3's. Okay tire, but they are really loud when turning. It got even louder with the removal of the sway bar.

My next tires will be less aggressive tread as I don't off road enough to justify p3's. Probably 35" K02's as they are silent and bigger is better!

Tried out some trapezoid tires the other day, not my cup of tee... will try round next set

In all seriousness, look into he 255/85/16 "Pizza Cutters" They are true 33" tires and have a lot less rolling resistance (less power loss/hit to MPG) and you don't need to cut anything to make them fit! I will be going with Dick Cepek Extreme Country 255/85/16 when mine wear out. EDIT: And they are the lightest 33" tire I could find... and load range E so you can pop them

Been running Duratracs for 10k miles and ok with them surprisingly..
My next set may be 285/75R16 KM3’s though.
Recommend a cab mount if you do this!
20mm wider and about an inch taller 265/75-285/75..

I hear square tires are more fuel efficient.

I’m interested in those, how much do they weigh? Iirc Cooper ST (non Maxx) are among the lightest 255/85/16 with a D rating.

Once the trolls are done f’ing with you maybe you can get some legit info.

I would search some previous threads for insight as to people who have already switched their tires out and what pros and cons they have experienced.

I haven’t switched mine out yet, but I have gained tons of info from other members who have had good and bad experiences with the brands you mentioned. Best of luck man. Keep us posted with what you end up with.

OP there are entire threads on this forum dedicated to those tires you listed. Recommend going to those as they will have the most information .

For a daily driver and limited off-road, Falken AT3W in P265/75R16. I have them and love the tire. I commute 100 miles a day on the highway and they are pretty darn quite for an aggressive all terrain tire.
