Very true. But, we fell into that trap. Fucking suburbia. We grew up in rural PA and roamed until dark. Here, roaming or playing around will either get you a nasty note from a stuck up neighbor, an HOA nasty-gram, or potentially stabbed or shot. I want to get back to rural.

 

Imagine that, being unable to just wait a couple more days for the full release lol

I hate being in the burbs or the city. I grew up on a farm in Texas. I learned at a very young age that cows stampede when startled, copperheads are not nice or fun to mess with, hay barns are very very flammable, and birdshot hurts like hell. Being in South Florida, I see it day in and day out. I was at one of my son's fall baseball games last month and these are all 13-16 year old kids. My son pitches for his high school team and throws in the mid 80's. There were parents on our team complaining about him throwing hard to the younger kids and saying it's not fair because they deserve a chance to hit the ball. It absolutely blew my mind.

 

Yeah. I found out that stupidity hurts growing up but not enough to fit in around here.

Fuck. That should just motivate your son to throw harder.

He's going to the Navy. Want's to be a SeaBee and then go to Architecture school after the military. He doesn't want to play baseball after high school.

 

That sounds like one great plan. We'll be building our way out of the crumbling infrastructure for a long time.

I was doing residential and small commercial structural engineering for a while many years ago. It was great working with architects and seeing the finished houses.
