Good friend has a full blooded healer. Your right, most stubborn dog I’ve ever been around! It is also the smartest. Damn thing does basic math with barks. I’d been willing to bet it would fetch my golf ball off the tee. Love these dogs and I will have one when the time is right.

It's all about speed though you can get out of most bad terrain with some speed

I feel your pain, same thing happened to me. I'll make short.

In September of 2016 I got myself a brand new truck, a 2017 Taco Sport 2WD Long bed wit TechPackage.
Few months later I went to Big Bear and got stuck at 2am for 2 hrs in a small residential street. How frustrating, no one around.
Few months after that got stuck on a dirt road a mile away from 395hwy near Death Valley, another 2 hours until a F250 pulled me out.
I had enough and I decided to get myself a 4x4, exactly same truck, same color but 4X4 with premium (moon roof, JBL, etc). Go big or go home right.
So in December 2017 (15 months after I bought it) I went to the dealer to order a 2018 Taco Off-Road 4x4 and they offered me 26k for my 2017 with 9K miles on it.
I went to Carmax and they offer me 27K
I paid 38K OTD with extended warranty (around $1500 warranty, cant remember exactly)
It took the dealer (Longo Toyota) 5 months to get my truck, so in May of 2018 they called to say they were building my truck and it would be here in a month.
I put an add on Craigslist for 34K. I sold for 31K and got $1200 back from the warranty.

Outcome: I dont feel like I lost anything. Of course, some could say I lost cause the sales tax, it is really a loss? I put 13K miles on the 2017 truck. My payment went up from $385 to $435 and I have one more year to pay on the long run but I'm very happy with my 4x4, plus now I have a 2018 Premium and this truck is taking me to places I couldn't go before.

    What can you do?
I would say, don't put any aftermarket parts on it, get a set of Maxtracks and keep the truck for 8/9months and them put on Craigslist and get a 2020.

No pre runner trim, no mud flaps,no step ups,I do have the Deck plate though. Kings @ 0 and 5100's in rear. stock leafs. Total chaos UCA.
We all get buyers remorse just air down and take smarter lines when off roading. And a car with front wheel drive could probably handle snow ice etc... better than your rear wheel truck

As someone who converted their truck to 4WD,

I wish I was still 2WD. I would be a hell of a lot richer. Off-Roading is an expensive hobby.

    Ouch...
Lesson learned on this one. Fortunately, it's not a major life changer though.

Pay an extra $100/month or whatever you can to get the principal down until you can move it.
