Honestly in Ca, as long as you have insurance and your vehicle is registered you can pretty much do what you want. The cops are to busy chasing everybody that's riding dirty.

I’ve been pulled over 3 times in the past few years and was let go every time. One cop was shocked I had a current registration card and a current drivers license.

They did away with inspections here in the 1970's. But if you don't have a working 3rd brake light in any of the 50 states are just asking for trouble. Get rear ended without one and you stand a good chance of being sued by the other driver as well as a citation.

In Cal you have your bienniall smog inspections, But your Registration Fees would be at least 300 plus ,and thats annually.

I had to read half the comments before I knew what you meant by inspection. If it rolls you’re doing pretty good in Alabama. I’ve got some family that moved to VA and they tell me a lot of the crazy stuff y’all have to pay and deal with. Dog licenses? No thanks. Unless they want me to send my 200lbs of fluffies to pick it up...CB89679C-225F-442D-9B37-409D933E3337.jpg

Well, I live in VA, and I have to get my vehicle inspected this month. I wont be taking off my rtt, as you can see the third break light from behind it.

I agree that VA inspections are ridiculous. I had an inspector tell me he had to remove the air freshener if I wanted to pass the inspection.

    Ah, yes Virginia state inspection.

I just bring mine to a sketchy place that literally just slaps a sticker on there after 10 minutes.

Yup, there’s some really stupid stuff that comes out of our guberment. Can’t be specific but one group controls the show and they are not the brightest bulbs on the marquee.

FL has nothing. We also have to contend with roads full of garbage beater cars with bald tires, no brakelights, mattresses strapped to the roof with bailing twine, and belching oil smoke. Freedom has its price.

You're seriously suggesting He moves to commifornia! Ok so once a year you need to fold down the soft top, the rest of the year its fine, and in terms of freedoms VA is not a bad place to be, especislly if you enjoy any 2A rights. Granted there are a few other states that are better, there are many, ca! That are worse. And the cops out here only give you a hard time about stuff like that if you're being a dick.

Going to the dealership for inspection was your first mistake.

This dude advocated to move to a place that is talking about taxing text messages. LMFAO.

Look, every state is going to get their money, whether its through personal property, land tax, home tax, sales tax, income tax.

Texas has very low personal property tax, but the property tax (homes) are higher than VA by quite a bit. Look at the total tax paid.

EDIT: CA has smog inspections stations. Im glad i dont have to deal with that BS

    Working on them
Utah recently dropped the State Safety Inspection ..... I think in a way that was good to drop because shops were using it as a way to sucker folks out of more money like when I once went in for the state and they told me I needed to replace the Wiper Blades (they were brand new I just installed them an hour before I went) and that my brake drums were worn out in the back so they needed to be replaced also ..... this was on my 2007 Tundra..... So I decided to make an Ass out of them I asked to see the Rear Brake drums that were worn out.... 15 minutes latter they came back "Oh everything is fine must of measured it wrong..... oh bullshit when I left I told them they were full of shit because the Tundra has Disc brakes no bloody drums....

I heard smog inspections for motorcycles is just a couple years away. I see a lot of dropped motorcycles in the future. Some fuck head Cali law maker figured this to be about as good of an idea as smog testing diesel trucks that aren’t actually being tested for emissions in any way. Shit now I’m all fired up!!!
