My 1.05 hits 5th and 6th at 45mph but it holds the gear well. No unnecessary shifts if I want to gradually increase speed.

5th gear at 45 would be awesome.

I was surprised today. 5th gear at 45 with ECT. 0-60 then slowed to 45. Truck stayed in 5th and I accelerated back to 65 without a downshift.

1.05 91 octane, 2017 Pro, no idle issue in D as far as I can tell.

I noticed a very subtle RPM bounced for few seconds as the engine warm up and RPM settle down from initial startup. But nothing out of ordinary when truck is stopped in D during normal operation.

Noticed idle was bouncing from 520rpm to 580rpm in D stopped with foot on brake, in 20 rpm jumps. It didn’t feel rough. Is this similar to rpm problem others had? Put about 130 on truck today, 105 91.

I had a similar issue, although it sounds like mine was more pronounced. I flashed the tune again (also went from 87 to 91 since I have been running 91 anyhow) and performed the idle learning procedure as specified by Toyota, with the engine at operating temperature this go around. Whatever the case, I no longer have the idle issue, and the truck is performing like it should. If Mat released a 'fix' (not sure its even an issue with the tune to be honest) i'll give that a shot for grins.

This sounds similar to what I experienced with 1.04. I did the idle learning from a cold start and it ran like crap. Did some reading here and let it warm up to operating temp before I flashed. Then I let it do the idle learning. Much better results. Hope that's the issue, because that's a simple fix.

There is a big difference between dongless and dongle-less.

Flashed 1.05 on 04Bo4 today, ran 200 miles or so. Shift points are nice like latest TSB. Check back at 2000 miles for degradation. If it stays like this I’ll be happy. Truck still wants to chug along at 1100 rpm but has a lot less stutter/misfire condition. 1.04r gave my tuck the worst stutter, worse than stock

I was on a very slight incline at a stop sign and not going anywhere because of heavy cross traffic. It was the sort of incline that you don't need to give it gas or brake to stay stationary in an AT...and the truck would very subtly surge forward, then, stop, then surge (we are talking low single digit inches, not feet). It was so subtle that at first I thought I inadvertently leaned on the skinny pedal, but I didn't.

It was minor enough (relative to the massive improvements) that I don't even think I would have bothered Ovtune about it, then I came here and read about him already working on a fix. My hats off to you @OVTune

Common theme. TW has a way of making us look for the problems.

It's almost like y'all have the same truck. Every single release one person say the slightest thing about "an issue" and y'all come out of the woodwork and say the same thing. Every. Single. Time.

I'm just so curious as to what is going on when Matt has testers, test it on his truck, yet never have any issues that get described anywhere in testing ( from what I gather). So, what the eff are y'all smoking?

It’s real. 1.05 93 is awesome. I didn’t even notice the idle until alerted to the problem by Mat’s post. He’ll fix it. In the meantime, I am going to reflash when the truck is a normal operating temp - original flash was on a cold engine.

I'm sure there is a psychological aspect to the random issues people may or may not perceive but this should all be verifiable via logger now. I plan on running a logs several times in the beginning and then a few thousand miles later to see any significant changes.

No idle issues with my 2016 on 1.05 91. I flashed on a warm engine and let it idle for 20+ minutes after installing. Very happy with the tune.

I'm going to reflash on a warm engine, never tried that way before. But full disclosure, I have a MT
