Yea. Kinda like when they whine about snow and ice.

    :amen:

I'm gonna guess, and it's only a guess, that you either live in SE Fl or maybe in some area of the panhandle? Don't see too much of that around here.

I say the same. We have enough outsiders that it impacts our culture and our resources. Heavily. I do get a chuckle when the folks from the ice climes who pack up our coastal areas all winter start to wail about the summer heat though.

Nope, definitely wasn't saying move to CA, I'll be out in a few years as well. I was just making a statement that even CA isn't that anal about vehicle road worthiness, we can thank a certain demographic for that.

I think southern Utah or Southern Idaho would be pretty cool

Registration fees are based on a percentage of the total value of the vehicle ?

    Ahh, ok.
Looking at it from the fire/rescue side of it(my wheelhouse) VA has very few accidental car fires where MD w/o the level of strict inspections, has a much higher # of accidental car fires. So the inspections are catching things 90% of things most car owners, who tend to be in the mindset of it turns on so it must be ok, or the weird smell will go away if I roll up the window.
Yeah it can get a little annoying for people who mod their vehicle, but these people usually have a level of understanding how to fix the simple things or change something before the inspection.

    Thank you!

My first highly modified truck. My friend that did my inspection last year helped me out, but he was busy this month. Otherwise it’s good I know what I need to do for dealership inspections.

I know....like I said above last year I went it a friend but he was unavailable. At least I know what to do next year. Plus it’s free at the dealership.

CA is very car friendly. Can almost drive anything legally on the street from home made cars to street legal bumper cars. No safety inspections ever. Yet another reason California is a wonderful place to live.
