The DeLorean Motor Company is still alive and well to this day. The remaining stock and copyright of the company was sold in the early 90’s to Stephen Wynne. There are dozens of DeLorean dealerships/service centers scrattered around the country.

You can buy a “brand new” DeLorean made completely out of new old stock from the headquarters in Humble, Texas with an original 1983 VIN.

@jbrandt I did the math back in August to see the difference between the two threads:

Here is a screenshot of the 'What have you done' thread in September of 2012, six years ago. At the time, it had about 22,000 replies. We are currently at 19,000 replies. It took that thread about a year to reach 22k replies. It has taken us less than three months to reach 19k replies.

    Now let's do some math.

@SlimDigg posted the 'What have you done - 1st Gen Edition' thread on February 7th, 2011. Today is August 14th, 2018. The duration between those two dates is 2,746 days, or 7 years, 6 months, and 8 days. That thread currently has a post count of 162,085. That is an average of 59.03 posts per day.

@Speedytech7 posted this thread on May 31st, 2018. The duration between the inception of this thread, and today is exactly 76 days or 2 months, and 15 days. The thread currently has a post count of 19,351. That is an average of 254.62 posts per day.
That being said, this thread has approximately 195.59 more posts per day than the 'What have you done - 1st Gen Edition' thread. The aforementioned thread and this thread have a difference of 142,734 posts. Therefore this thread, at an rate of 250 posts average per day, will catch up with the 'What have you done - 1st Gen Edition' thread in approximately 570.94 days, or 2 years, 1 month, and 10 days.

Accounting for the exponential post rate, let's assume 830 days have elapsed, or 2 years, 3 months, and 1 week. The 'What have you done - 1st Gen Edition' thread, at a rate of 59 posts a day will be at a total of 211,055 posts. This thread, at a rate of 250 posts a day will be at a total of 220,251 posts.

Therefore this thread will surpass the 'What have you done - 1st Gen Edition' thread sometime in late 2020, whichdoes validate my original calculation to a rough extent.

I whipped out my TI-83 for you fucks. Enjoy.

Huh, I'll find a creative way to work that into the OP

We chat too much on here, the amount of unique posters on the other thread has got to be higher

I did the front brakes on a 2006 Scion tC today. The rotors were grooved and warped to hell, and there was grinding coming from the front.

Went and picked up new rotors and pads for front and rear. I was going to get to the rear today, however I snapped one of the caliper slide pin bolts as so:

This was around 9:00 PM so all the parts stores were closed. I had to extract the bolt no matter what. I used my drill press to drill a small pilot hole in the slide bolt, and used a bolt extractor to remove it.

    635A6D56-2C56-4CFA-BC62-B7C867DF1AC7.jpg

And there you have it. It came out. SO Satisfying. Ran to Home Depot to pick up some Grade 8.8 bolts for temporary use. I’m going to run to the dealer tomorrow to replace them with proper Grade 10 bolts. They’re M8x1.0 bolts torqued to 25 ft/lbs so I’m not that worried.

Here’s the bolt that snapped (on top of the slide pin for the caliper)

    DF0BFCD6-2886-4A83-9B7B-597AA2296C03.jpg

We just bedded the brakes without issue so it’s good to go. Next week I’ll get the rear done along with a fluid flush. Might even get a clutch job out of the way.

Shoutout to @Empty_Lord for sending me the torque specs.

Lemme recalculate it first. This was back in August when the page count was only around 900.
