    Kinda reviving an old thread,

My truck seems to have moderated considerably with time, but all of these seemed to help somewhat:

Exhaust Damper (also seemed to raise the vibe point maybe 100 rpm)
Latest ECU TSB (Also eliminated some gear hunting that caused the problem to be more noticeable)
Higher Octane fuel before highway trips that cause rpms to be in that range more.

I'm currently experimenting with installing the steering wheel damper part 45713-35040 from TSB-0171-16 to see if that can eliminate some more vibration.

I won't be doing much driving over the Christmas break but I can report back after the new year if that helped any. The part is about 27 bucks and it takes about 10 minutes or so to install.

Where did you mount the damper?

The exhaust damper I tried in 2 places seemed similar, one was by the muffler where there seemed to be more play in the exhaust, currently I have it in the place that is shown in this thread by the transfer case, although the exhaust is very tight in that area.

The steering wheel damper goes inside the steering wheel ref the TSB to see picture of it.

Is this happening on the 18s and 19s?

Mine is a 2017, I haven't heard of issues with the 2018,2019's TSB-0171-16 doesn't apply to 2018 and on, now I don't think that TSB-0171-16 directly involved with this issue but having a damper in the steering wheel can't hurt.

Why do these trucks have so many little issues, it's crazy.

Do you have any instructions or pics? Is there any special thing to do related to the air bag?

The TSB Doc is here has pictures of where the Damper goes https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...veline-vibration.463992/page-27#post-19425942

As far as installing all you have to do is remove the airbag from the steering wheel. There are 2 panels on either side of the wheel that come off and there is a torx bit. You need small flat screwdriver to lift up the yellow tabs on the airbag connectors, all this should be done with the battery disconnected and the system drained.

https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2nd-gen-clockspring-replacement-how-to.106114 has some 2nd gen pics but the bolts are in the same place. Just removal of the air bag the whole wheel doesn't need to come out.

Just an update I have enough driving in that I'm pretty confident that the steering wheel damper part does not help with this particular resonance buzz around 2100 RPM on my steering wheel under load.
